Our prediction for this FA Cup match:
A place in the FA Cup last 16 will be at stake when Everton and Brentford face each other at Goodison Park on Saturday. The Toffees continue life without Rafa Benitez, and, no doubt, fans have faith in new boss Frank Lampard, who will make his debut against the Bees. All Abdoulaye Doucoure, Fabian Delph, and Thomas Davies are sidelined with injuries, while midfielder Allan should be recalled to the starting XI.
Richarlison, who was left out of Brazil squad for February WC qualifying matches, is likely to lead the line for the hosts. Brentford, on the other hand, aim to bounce back from the Premier League loss to Wolverhampton. The Bees, though, have been struggling at the back in 2022, which is probably the main reason why Frank Lampard’s troops are going to book their place in the FA Cup round 5. The likes of Zanka, Tariqe Fosu, Joshua Dasilva, and Julian Jeanvier are injured for the visitors.
Highlighted Player (Seamus Coleman):
Quite possibly the most talented footballer to have donned the Republic of Ireland jersey in the second decade of the 21st century, Seamus Coleman is an attacking full-back, who has been one of Everton’s best performers for quite some time.
Plucked from lowly Sligo Rovers in 2009, the highly rated footballer took to Premier League like duck to water and went on to become one of the best right-sided defenders in the league. Coleman has developed a knack for scoring amazing goals, and he already has more than a dozen strikes in the Premier League.
The talented footballer is still waiting for his first goal in the Republic of Ireland national team, but it is only a matter of time before he ends his international drought, even though that is not exactly his main job. The general consensus is that Coleman should have left Everton for a top club earlier in order to realise his full potential, but there is still time for the Irish footballer to grace the biggest stage.
Highlighted Team (Brentford):
Based in London, Brentford compete in the Championship and they were founded in 1898. Griffin Park has been the home ground of the club since 1904 and the capacity of the venue is 12,300.
The Bees have yet to play in the Premier League and it has to be noted that they made it to the FA Cup sixth round on four occasions (1937/1938, 1945/1946,1948/1949, 1988/1989). Brentford played in the League Cup round 4 in the 1982/1983 and 2010/2011 season and that is the club’s biggest success in the competition.
Brentford’s main rivals are Fulham and Queens Park Rangers and they take on each other in the West London Derby. The rivalry with the Cottagers is probably the biggest and you should bear in mind that the clashes between the two teams have their history of crowd violence. The colour of Brentford’s shirts is red and white and they wear black shorts.
