Our prediction for this FA Cup match:
After beating Newcastle United in the EFL Cup final, Manchester United will look to give fans yet another reason to celebrate when they face West Ham United in the FA Cup last 32. The Red Devils are on a three-game winning run in all competitions, and they will continue relying on in-form attacker Marcus Rashford, who sealed the triumph at the weekend. Both Christian Eriksen and Donny van den Beek are sidelined with injuries, while Anthony Martial is a major doubt.
The Hammers, on the other hand, rolled over Nottingham Forest 4-0 at the weekend, but given their difficulties on the road, we believe that there is a big value in betting on Erik ten Hag’s troops. Since both Maxwel Cornet and Kurt Zouma are back to contention, David Moyes will have a full squad to choose from for Wednesday’s FA Cup game.
Highlighted Player (Marcus Rashford):
Marcus Rashford is one of the most talented English footballers. Rashford was born in Wythenshawe, Manchester on October 31, 1997 and he began his youth career at Fletcher Moss Rangers. Manchester United scouts spotted him in 2005 when he joined the famous Premier League club.
The pacey footballer, who is capable of playing as both winger and striker, marked his Manchester United first-team debut with two goals in a 5-1 crushing of Midtjylland in the Europa League.
Marcus Rashford scored seven goals in 35 appearances for the Red Devils in the 2017/2018 Premier League season. Speaking of his international debut, the Manchester United attacker played his first match for England against Australia on May 27, 2016 and he did well to find the net in a 2-1 win over the Socceroos.
After producing fine displays with Manchester United in the 2017/2018 season, Marcus Rashford was named in the 23-man England national team squad that will take part in the 2018 FIFA World Cup.
Highlighted Team (West Ham):
West Ham United are an English football club based in East London. The club was founded in 1895 and it has to be noted that the club’s name was Thames Ironworks back then. The Hammers were playing their home games at Upton Park from 1904 until 2016, when they moved to the Stadium at Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park.
West Ham have won three FA Cup trophies (1964, 1975 and 1980) and they were runners-up in 1923 and 2006. The capital club finished the 1985/1986 England first division campaign in third place in the standings and that is the club’s highest placing in the top flight. West Ham United have strong rivalries with fellow London clubs, but Tottenham Hotspur are considered the club’s main rivals.
A number of top-class players were part of West Ham in the past and the likes of Joe Cole, Carlos Tevez, Paolo Di Canio, Paul Ince, Julian Dicks, Shaka Hislop, Michael Carrick and Slaven Bilic are some of them.
