Leeds United
Blackburn Rovers and Leeds United, the two famous English clubs, face each other at Ewood Park in a highly-anticipated pre-season friendly. The Riversiders did well to beat lower-league side Fylde in their first game of the pre-season, but Bradford City proved to be a big catch for the Championship side. Blackburn aim to get back on course, but they will have a mountain to climb in Wednesday’s warm-up game.
The Whites, on the other hand, continue their preparations for the new Premier League campaign. Marcelo Bielsa is likely to use this friendly to test as many players as possible for the season opener against Man Utd, and that is the main reason why we are tempted to put our money on draw. Robin Koch, Diego Llorente, Liam Cooper, Mateusz Klich, and Tyler Robert are all likely to miss the game after their represented their respective national teams at the EURO 2020 finals.
Highlighted Player (Lewis Holtby):
Lewis Holtby is a left-footed footballer who plays for Hamburg as a midfielder. Holtby began his senior career at Alemannia Aachen and he played for the club between 2007 and 2009. The German player then joined Schalke in 2009, but he was quickly sent to Bochum on loan.
After ending his loan spells with Bochum and Mainz, he returned to Schalke and it has to be noted that he made 55 goals for the club, scoring 10 goals in Bundesliga. On 28 January, 2013 Holtby signed a four-and-a-half-year deal with Tottenham Hotspur, but he was playing below expectations for the Premier League club.
In September, 2014 Holtby joined Hamburg on loan and on 1 July, 2015 he signed a permanent contract with the club. His contract with Hamburg expires on 30 June, 2018. Lewis Holtby has 24 caps for Germany U21 and he made his debut for German national team on 17 November, 2010 in a goalless draw with Sweden. He started the game, but he was substituted by Andre Schurrle after 77 minutes.

Leeds United is one of the clubs that won the FA Cup. The Whites outplayed Arsenal in the final of the prestigious competition back in 1972, but they clinched the League Cup trophy as well. Leeds United faced the Gunners in the 1967/1968 League Cup final and it has to be noted that Terry Cooper scored the winner for the Whites.
Leeds play their home games at Elland Road and the capacity of the stadium is 37,914. The club was founded in 1919 and they have won three First Division (Premier League) trophies ever since (1968/1969, 1973/1974, 1991/1992). Leeds United made it to the Champions League final in 1975, but they were beaten by Bayern Munich in the title clash.
The Whites were impressive under David O’Leary. The likes of Jonathan Woodgate, Lee Bowyer, Harry Kewell, Mark Viduka and Ian Harte were part of the Elland Road outfit back then and they did well to reach the semis of the Champions League in 2001.
