Following five consecutive wins in all competitions, Groningen suffered a 1-0 loss to Dordrecht in their last league match and, no doubt, they are eager to return to winning ways as soon as possible. Dick Lukkien’s troops have turned their stadium into a real fortress and you should bear in mind that they are eyeing their sixth consecutive win at home ground.
Fortuna Sittard, on the other hand, head into Thursday’s clash following a thrilling 3-3 draw with Heerenveen. Given Groningen’s attacking potential in front of home fans, we predict that both sides will find the net in the Dutch Cup game. A man to keep an eye on in the away team will be Croatia midfielder Alen Halilovic, who scored a brace in the last league match.
