Barnsley play host to Wycombe to their Oakwell in what is expected to be a close League One encounter. The Tykes impressed in a 3-0 win over Bristol Rovers, with Devante Cole opening his goal-scoring account. Michael Duff’s troops aim to give fans yet another reason for celebration, and we are positive that they will adopt an attack-minded approach in Saturday’s clash. Michal Helik is unlikely to recover in time to face the Chairboys.
Wycombe, on the other hand, kicked off the new League One campaign with a 3-0 win over Burton, but they are on a three-game losing run ahead of the trip to South Yorkshire. Since Barnsley are a real force to be reckoned with at home, we do not believe that the visitors are capable of grabbing something from Saturday’s clash. There are no fresh injury worries in the away side.

Jason McCarthy is a product of the famous Southampton youth academy. McCarthy started his youth career in his hometown club back in 2002 and he made his senior debut with the Saints in the Premier League on December 26, 2014, coming as a substitute for Nathaniel Clyne in a 3-1 away victory at Crystal Palace.
After spending a couple of seasons on loan at Wycombe Wanderers and Walsall, the English defender signed a three-year deal with Barnsley in the summer of 2017 for an undisclosed fee. Jason McCarthy was struggling to secure a first-team football at the Oakwell stadium outfit and, as a result, he returned to Wycombe Wanderers on August 9, 2018, penning a three-year contract with the League One side.
His preferred foot is right, his main position centre-back, but he is used as a right-back as well. Jason McCarthy was born in Southampton on November 7, 1995.

Founded back in 1887, Wycombe Wanderers are one of the oldest clubs in the League One. The Chairboys are well known for their sky blue and dark blue shirts, but the colour of their away kit is orange combined with gun-metal gray.
Wycombe Wanderers host their rivals at Adams Park, a small stadium in Sands Industrial Estate which can hold up to 10,137 people. Milton Keynes Dons are seen as the club’s main rivals, with the two teams facing each other in the Buckinghamshire derby. Wycombe Wanderers made it to the FA Cup semis in the 2000/2001, with the team repeating the success in the League Cup six seasons later.
It has to be noted that the Chairboys have two FA Trophy titles (1991, 1993). Legendary midfielder Gareth Ainsworth is considered one of the club’s most famous players. Ainsworth scored 16 goals in 112 league appearances for Wycombe Rovers.
