Our prediction for this League 1 match:
Charlton Athletic and Burton Albion go head to head at the Valley in the League One round 39. The Red Robins quickly bounced back from a 2-1 loss to Accrington, with the team beating Gillingham thanks to Alex Gilbey’s goal. The capital club are safe for now, but they can’t afford any complacency in the remainder of the season. All Ryan Inniss, Jake Forster-Caskey, Jayden Stockley, and Chuks Aneke are sidelined with injuries.
The Brewers, on the other hand, did well to beat Fleetwood 3-2 at the weekend, with the team putting an end to their three-game losing run. Louis Moult is pushing for a start after opening his goal-scoring account on Matchday 38, while there are no fresh injury worries in the away side. Anyhow, we are tempted to put our money on draw as the two teams seem to be evenly matched at the moment.
Highlighted Player (Jake Forster-Caskey ):
Born in Southend-on-Sea, England on April 25, 1994 Jake Forster-Caskey is a midfielder who plays for Charlton Athletic in the League One. Forster-Caskey started his both youth and senior careers at Brighton & Hove Albion and it has to be noted that he scored five goals in 67 league appearances for the Seagulls first team.
After spending a couple of seasons on loan at the likes of Oxford United, Milton Keynes Dons and Rotherham United, the English footballer signed a two-and-a-half year deal with Charlton Athletic in the winter of 2017. Jake quickly established himself as a first-team regular at the capital club, scoring 5 goals in 43 appearances in the 2017/2018 League One campaign.
However, he was out of contention for most of the 2018/2019 season with a serious knee injury. His main position is central midfielder, but he is capable of playing as both defensive and left midfielder as well.
Highlighted Team (Burton):
Burton Albion are one of the four clubs that secure promotion to the Championship at the end of the 2015/2016 campaign. The Brewers welcome their rivals at Pirelli Stadium, the venue that was opened in 2005. The capacity of the stadium is 6,912, while the seating capacity of the venue is 2,034.
Burton Albion won the FA Trophy in 1987, with the team winning Football League Two in 2015. During the club’s non-League period, the Brewers’ local rivals were Nuneaton Borough, Tamworth, Stafford Rangers and Gresley Rovers, but while they were playing in the Football League the club’s rivals were Crewe, Port Vale, Notts County and Chesterfield.
Derby County are considered Burton Albion’s rivals as well, but the rivalry with the Rams is rather friendly. The colour of Burton Albion’s home kit is black and yellow, while they wear white and grey jerseys on the travels.
