Our prediction for this League 1 match:
The Valley will host Tuesday’s football game between Charlton Athletic and Gillingham, the two bottom-table sides. The Red Robins are safe for now, but they can’t afford any complacency in the remainder of the season. All Ryan Inniss, Jake Forster-Caskey, Jayden Stockley, and Chuks Aneke are out of contention with injuries, but there are no suspended players in the home team.
The Gills, on the other hand, recorded a very important 1-0 win over Doncaster in their last league match. The visitors are eager to escape the relegation zone, but beating Charlton in London is easier said than done. Taking everything into account, we believe that there is a big value in betting on draw. All Daniel Adshead, Alexander MacDonald, and Danny Lloyd are out of contention with injuries. In the first half of the season the two sides played out a 1-1 draw.
Highlighted Player (Jake Forster-Caskey ):
Born in Southend-on-Sea, England on April 25, 1994 Jake Forster-Caskey is a midfielder who plays for Charlton Athletic in the League One. Forster-Caskey started his both youth and senior careers at Brighton & Hove Albion and it has to be noted that he scored five goals in 67 league appearances for the Seagulls first team.
After spending a couple of seasons on loan at the likes of Oxford United, Milton Keynes Dons and Rotherham United, the English footballer signed a two-and-a-half year deal with Charlton Athletic in the winter of 2017. Jake quickly established himself as a first-team regular at the capital club, scoring 5 goals in 43 appearances in the 2017/2018 League One campaign.
However, he was out of contention for most of the 2018/2019 season with a serious knee injury. His main position is central midfielder, but he is capable of playing as both defensive and left midfielder as well.
Highlighted Team (Gillingham):
Founded back in 1893, Gillingham FC are an English club that compete in the League One. The Gills are well known for their blue shirts with black stripes, but they wear white shirts with a little yellow and blue, and yellow shirts when playing on the travels.
Priestfield Stadium is the club’s home ground, with the venue holding up to 11,582 spectators. Gillingham City have been playing at the stadium since the club’s foundation. Speaking of the club’s main rivals, over the years the Gills have built up a rivalry to Swindon Town. However, it has to be noted that Swindon fans do not consider Gillingham their biggest rivals.
Former goalkeeper Roy Hillyard is the Gillingham City player with the most appearances. The English shot-stopper played for Gillingham City from 1974 to 1991, making 655 appearances for the club. Brian Yeo is the team’s all-time top scorer, netting 149 goals in 387 appearances for the club from 1963 to 1975.
