Our prediction for this League 1 match:
Forest Green and Accrington face each other in a postponed League One fixture at the New Lawn. The Green Army aim to put an end to their three-game losing run, and they are likely to go all guns blazing at the Accy Stanley. Forest Green have yet to find their form in the new League One campaign, but Tuesday’s clash could be the turning point for the hosts. Defender Bailey Cargill is sidelined with injury for the home team, while there are no other fresh selection worries in the home team.
The visitors, on the other hand, are on a four-match winless run in the English third tier. Seamus Conneely is pushing for a start, whereas the opposition back-line should have experienced forward Sean McConville at bay. Anyhow, both teams to score betting option should be considered as both sides are desperate to get back on course.
Highlighted Player (Dominic Bernard):
After spending his youth career at Tredworth Tigers and Birmingham City, Dom Bernard signed a professional deal with the Blues. However, he did not see any game action with Birmingham City at the senior level as he was instantly sent on loan at Aldershot Town.
After making 35 appearances for the Shots in the league, Dom Bernard joined Forest Green in the summer of 2019. He made his debut with the Green Army against Oldham Athletic on the opening day of the 2019/2020 season. Bernard, who quickly established himself as a first-team regular at Forest Green, has one cap with the Republic of Ireland U18 team while making two appearances with the U17 team.
He was born in Gloucester, England on March 29, 1997, and he wears the number 3 shirt at Forest Green. His main position is right back, but he is capable of producing fine performances as a centre-back as well.
Highlighted Team (Accrington):
Founded back in 1891 and reformed in 1968, Accrington Stanley are an English football club that compete in the League One. The original team competed in the Football League from 1921 to 1962, spending the last four seasons in Lancashire Combination.
The Accy are well known for their red home kit, whilst they wear sky blue shirts and white shorts when playing on the travels. The League One side play their home games at Crown Ground, the stadium which can hold up to 5,450 spectators (3,100 seated). Accrington have been playing at Crown Ground since 1970.
Listed as the all-time favourite player amongst fans, Chris Grimshaw is one of the most famous Accrington Stanley footballers. However, George Stewart is the team’s top scorer, netting 136 goals in total from 1954 to 1958. It has to be noted that the Accy have yet to represent England in European competitions.
