Gillingham welcome Wigan Athletic at their Priestfield Stadium in a highly-anticipated League One game. The Gills desperately needed a win against Cambridge United, and they managed to get one, with the team moving away from the danger zone. Gillingham did well to put an end to their five-match winless run, and, no doubt, they are high on spirits ahead of Saturday’s clash.
As always, a man to watch in the home team will be Vadaine Oliver, who has netted four goals in the League One so far this season. The Latics, on the other hand, failed to impress in a 2-1 loss to Sheffield Wednesday. Wigan Athletic aim to melt Sunderland’s advantage in the standings, but we are tempted to put our money on the underdogs this time out as they impressed in the midweek triumph. Gillingham defenders should have Charlie Wyke at bay.

Stuart O’keefe is a an English footballer who started his senior career at Southend United. In August 2010 O’Keefe signed a one-year deal with Crystal Palace after impressing coach George Burley in a trial game against West Ham reserves.
The 173-cm-tall midfielder scored one goal in 36 appearances for the Eagles in the Premier League, finding the net in a 3-1 win over Sunderland on August 31, 2013. Stuart O’Keefe played for Blackpool on loan before moving to Cardiff City in the winter of 2015.
After his loan spells with Milton Keynes Dons, Portsmouth and Plymouth Argyle, O’Keefe moved to Gillingham at the end of the 2018/2019 season. He made his League One debut with the club on August 3, 2019 in a 1-1 draw with Doncaster Rovers. His main position is central midfield, but he is used as both defensive and attacking midfielder as well. His preferred foot is right.

This is considered the club’s biggest success, but it has to be noted that Wigan played in the UEFA Europa League in the 2013/2014 season.
Wigan have been playing their home games at the DW Stadium since 1999 and they had played at Springfield Park in the past. Chorley are considered Wigan’s fierce rivals, but the two teams last met in 1971, when they competed in the Northern Premier League. The likes of Preston North End, Bury, Oldham Athletic, Burnley and Blackburn Rovers are regarded as Wigan Athletic’s rivals as well.
The club was founded in 1932 and they competed in the English Premier League from 2005 to 2013. The colour of Wigan’s home kit is blue and white (stripes).
