Our prediction for this League 1 match:
Lincoln and Ipswich go head to head at LNER Stadium in what is expected to be one of the most interesting games of Monday’s program. Lincoln are now on a four-game winless run, with the team being stuck in the middle of the table, but they should not be written off just yet. Keep in mind, though, that defender Joe Walsh is banned for the match following his sending off in a 1-1 draw with Bolton Wanderers.
The Tractor Boys, on the other hand, aim to melt Plymouth’s advantage to only one point, and seeing that they are the most successful visitors in the league (7-3-2), away triumph should be considered. Panutche Camara remains on the sidelines with an adductor issue, while midfielder Kyle Edwards is pushing for a start. In the first half of the season Lincoln defeated Ipswich thanks to Ben Hause’s goal, meaning that the visitors are hungry for revenge.
Highlighted Player (Teddy Bishop):
Having joined Ipswich as an eight-year-old, Teddy Bishop rose through the ranks at Portman Road to become one of the key players for the Tractor Boys. Bishop’s road to prominence hit a serious roadblock in his first year of the academy scholarship when he endured a serious back injury, but it was in 2014 that he went from strength to strength – proving his worth at the club and emerging as one of the most promising players in the squad.
The total of 36 appearances in his debut season with the first team were more than enough to make an impression on the fans and the club hierarchy which offered him a new long-term deal.
This deep-lying midfielder in characterized by impressive passing accuracy, vision and great reading of the play. Bishop is an asset defensively as well, but he is most comfortable sitting just above the back line, spraying balls around. As a two-footed midfielder, Teddy Bishop is regularly being watched by a number of Premier League biggest clubs.
Highlighted Team (Ipswich):
Ipswich Town are an English football club that was formed in 1878. Portman Road has been the home ground of Ipswich Town since 1894 and the capacity of the venue, which was expanded in 2002, is 30,311. The Tractor Boys compete in the Championship, but they used to play in the English Premier League in the past as well. Ipswich Town last appeared in the elite division in the 2001/2002 season.
Ipswich won the FA Cup in 1978, with the team beating Arsenal (1-0) in the title game. However, the club’s biggest success came in 1981 when they outplayed AZ Alkmaar in the UEFA Cup final. It has to be noted that the Tractor Boys have yet to suffer a loss at home ground in the European competitions.
Norwich City are regarded as Ipswich Town’s bitterest rivals and it is well known that the two sides take on each other in the East Anglian derby.
