Our prediction for this League 1 match:
Oxford United will look to extend their winning run to three games when they take on Wigan Athletic in the League One round 23. The Yellows are determined to secure promotion to the Championship, but they need to keep on making progress if they are to turn the dream into reality. A man to watch in the away team will be Mark Sykes, who has found his goal-scoring touch of late, while both Gorrin and Sam Winnall should miss out with injuries.
The Latics, on the other hand, head into the match following a 1-1 draw with Ipswich Town. Wigan Athletic aim to overtake Rotherham in top position in the standings, and they are likely to adopt an attack-minded approach in Saturday’s derby. Given Oxford United’s current form, both teams to score betting option should be considered. Scott Smith remains on the sidelines with injury for the visiting side.
Highlighted Player (James Henry):

James Henry was born in Reading on 10 June, 1989, but he grew up in Woodley. He began playing football at his home-town club Woodley Saints, but he made progress during his spell at Reading’s youth academy. Henry is a winger who is capable of playing as a centre midfielder as well, but he failed to score for Reading in 10 league appearances for the club.
After ending his loan spells with the likes of Nottingham Forest, Bournemouth, Norwich City and Millwall, he signed a permanent deal with the Lions on 28 July, 2010. Henry signed a three-year deal with Millwall and he made his home debut in a 4-0 win over Hull City.
It has to be noted that Henry played for both Scotland and England at youth level in the past, but he has yet to make his debut for the first team. Henry was born in England, but his parents are Scottish and, as a result, he is eligible to play for both England and Scotland.
Highlighted Team (Wigan):

Wigan Athletic are one of the winners of the English FA Cup. The Latics won the prestigious trophy in 2013, with the team upsetting Manchester City in the title game. This is considered the club’s biggest success, but it has to be noted that Wigan played in the UEFA Europa League in the 2013/2014 season.
Wigan have been playing their home games at the DW Stadium since 1999 and they had played at Springfield Park in the past. Chorley are considered Wigan’s fierce rivals, but the two teams last met in 1971, when they competed in the Northern Premier League. The likes of Preston North End, Bury, Oldham Athletic, Burnley and Blackburn Rovers are regarded as Wigan Athletic’s rivals as well.
The club was founded in 1932 and they competed in the English Premier League from 2005 to 2013. The colour of Wigan’s home kit is blue and white (stripes).
