Our prediction for this League 1 match:
Following three consecutive defeats in the League One, Portsmouth defeated Burton in midweek to regain a much-needed confidence. The Pompey aim to keep their playoffs hopes alive, but they face yet another must-win game against Doncaster. Midfielder Joe Morrell is back from suspension, while Shaun Williams continues to miss out with injury. Paul Downing is a major doubt, and he will be assessed ahead of the kick-off.
The Donny, on the other hand, will find it hard to secure the League One survival. Doncaster suffered three defeats in the previous four league fixtures, and we do not believe that they are capable of spoiling Portsmouth’s party at Fratton Park. All Okenabirhie, Close, John, Bostock, and Anderson remain in the recovery room, which is yet another reason why home win should be considered. In the first half of the season the two teams played out a goalless draw.

Doncaster Rovers footballers wear white shirts with red stripes and white shorts when playing on home soil, whereas the club’s away colours are dark blue and red. Speaking of the Rovers’ history, the club was established back in 1879 by Alber Jenkins, who worked as a fitter at Doncaster’s Great Northern Railway.
Doncaster Rovers shared the spoils with Rawmarsh in their first ever game. The likes of Rotherham United, Barnsley, Grimsby Town and Scuntorpe United are considered the club’s main rivals. Over the years Doncaster fans have developed a rivalry with Plymout Argule as there have been fireworks in their games. Donny Dog, that wears a red and white jersey, is the club’s mascot.
