Our prediction for this League 2 match:
Bradford City will be aiming to record their first win of the season when they take on Oldham Athletic at their Valley Parade. The Bantams played out a goalless draw with Exeter in their opener, but it has to be noted that they missed a couple of clear-cut opportunities to score. Considering that over the years Bradford City have turned their Valley Parade into a real fortress, punters from all around the globe can definitely find value in betting on the home team.
The Latics, on the other hand, failed to take a shot on target in a 1-0 loss to Newport, which is yet another reason why we predict the hosts will pick up all three points from Saturday’s clash. All Jameson, Luamba, and Stobbs are pushing for a start for the visiting team.
Highlighted Player (Anthony O\\\'Connor):
Born in Cork, the Republic of Ireland on October 25, 1992, Anthony O’Connor is a professional footballer who plays for Bradford City as a defender. His primary position is a centre-back, but he is used as both right-back and defensive midfielder as well.
The Irish footballer is a product of the Blackburn Rovers football academy, but he did not see any game action with the Riversiders at senior level. After ending his loan spells with the likes of Burton Albion, Torquay United, and Plymouth Argyle, Anthony O’Connor signed a permanent deal with the Pilgrims in 2015. At the end of the 2014/2015 season, O’Connor returned to Burton, signing a two-year contract with the Brewers.
In the summer of 2016, he moved to Scotland Premier League club Aberdeen where he scored five goals in 61 league appearances. In June 2018 he joined League Two side Bradford City. It has to be noted that Anthony O’Connor has eight caps with the Republic of Ireland U21 team.
Highlighted Team (Oldham):
Based in Oldham, Greater Manchester, Oldham Athletic are a professional football club that compete in League Two. The Latics play their home matches at Boundary Park, the venue with the capacity of 13,512 spectators. Oldham Athletic are well known for their blue and white home kit, with the owl being the symbol of the club.
The Latics did remarkably well to make it to the League Cup final in 1990, but Nottingham Forest proved to be a big catch for Joe Royle’s troops in the title game. Oldham made it to the FA Cup semis on three occasions (1912/13, 1989/90, 1993/94), and in 1979 they advanced to the Anglo-Scottish Cup final. The Latics registered their biggest league triumph on December 26, 1962, with the team crushing Southport 11-0 in Division 4.
Speaking of the club’s heaviest defeat, Oldham Athletic were hammered by Tranmere Rovers 14-3 at Prenton Park on December 26, 1935. Bolton, Stockport, and Blackburn are the club’s traditional rivals, but nowadays, Huddersfield Town are seen as the Latics’ fiercest rivals.
