Barrow
Memorial Stadium will host Tuesday’s League Two game between Bristol Rovers and Barrow, the two teams with entirely different ambitions in the season finale. The Pirates are eyeing a place in the playoffs, while the Bluebirds are desperate to secure the survival. Following three consecutive league wins, Bristol Rovers shared the spoils with Exeter at the weekend, and, no doubt, they want to return to winning ways as soon as possible.
January signing Jon Nolan is likely to makes his debut against Barrow, with Nick Anderton pushing for a start as well. The visitors, on the other hand, failed to win the previous four league fixtures, which is probably the main reason why we are tempted to put our money on the home side. Connor Brown is a major doubt, while fit-again attacker Josh Gordon should keep his place in the starting XI.

Probably one of the most underrated footballers in Premier League history, Glenn Whelan was born on 13 January 1982 in Dublin and he went on to enjoy a very successful career on club and international level.
Following spells with Manchester City, Bury and Sheffield Wednesday, the defensive midfielder found his peace at the Britannia Stadium, making over 250 Premier League appearances for Stoke City and keeping his place in the side under both Tony Pulis and Mark Hughes. Predominantly focused on doing the dirty defensive work and helping out the back four, Whelan never quite made the headlines for his style of play or quality of his displays, but remained an important player for both club and country.
The midfielder has so far made over 70 appearances for the Republic of Ireland national team, wearing the captain’s armband on several occasions, and starting all three group games at the Euro 2012 finals, while helping The Green Army qualify for the Euro 2016 as well.

Founded back in 1901, Barrow is an English club that competes in the League two, the fourth tier of the English football system. The Bluebirds are well known for their blue shirts with white details, but yellow is the dominant colour of their away jersey. Barrow play home games at Holker Street, the stadium which can hold up to 5,045 spectators.
The venue was opened in 1909, and it has to be noted that no fewer than 16,874 people attended the FA Cup match between Barrow and Swansea in January, 1954. The Bluebirds have won two FA Trophies (1989/90, 2009/10), with the team lifting the Lancashire Senior Cup trophy in the 1954/55.
The likes of James Bell, Jim Collins, Andy McLaren, Jimmy Mulholland, Jackie Robertson, Barry Diamond, and George King are the most notable footballers who played for Barrow in the past. It has to be noted that the Bluebirds have never competed in the English top flight.
