Colchester and Tranmere square off against each other at Colchester Community Stadium on Matchday 7. The U’s aim to recover from a 1-0 loss to Walsall and we are positive that they will fight tooth and nail against the Super Whites. Alex Newby suffered an injury in the last league match, with Matt Jay likely to step up. Colchester head coach Ben Garner is likely to stick to the 4-4-2 formation.
Tranmere, on the other hand, suffered a dip in form, with the team losing each of their last four games in all competitions. The Superwhites are low on spirits ahead of the trip to Essex, which is probably the main reason why we are going to bet on the hosts. There are no fresh injury worries in the visiting team, but that is unlikely to help Ian Dawes’ men grab something from the match.

Tommy Smith is a left-footed defender who plays at centre back. Smith is capable of playing as left back as well and he represents New Zealand on the international stage. He was born in Macclesfield, Cheshire, but seeing that he was resided in New Zealand he was eligible to play for both England and All Whites.
The New Zealand international played for the likes of Crewe Alexandra, North Shore United and Ipswich Town during his youth career and he made his debut for the first team in Ipswich’s 2-1 defeat to Preston North End in the opening match of the 2008/2009 campaign.
Tommy Smith impressed in the 2013/2014 Championship campaign with the Tractor Boys as he scored 6 goals in 45 league appearances for the club. Speaking of his international career, Smith made his full New Zealand debut on 3 March, 2010 in a 2-0 loss to Mexico. He scored his first goal for the All Whites in the 2014 World Cup qualifier against Fiji. Smith was born on 31 March 1990.

Based in Birkenhead, Merseyside, Tranmere Rovers are a professional club that compete in the League One. Tranmere were founded back in 1884 under the name of Belmont FC, with the football arms of cricket clubs Lyndhurst Wanderers and Belmont coming together. The club recorded their first win later in 1884 as they outclassed Brunswick Rovers 4-0.
Nowadays Tranmere Rovers play their home games at Prenton Park, the venue which can hold up to 15,567 people. The Rovers wear white shirts and blue shorts in home matches, but back in the 19th century orange and red were the dominating colours on their kit.
