Parc Olympique Lyonnais will host Sunday’s matinee between Olympique Lyon and Metz, the two relegation-threatened teams. Les Gones are desperate to record their first win of the season and we are positive that they will fight tooth and nail against les Grenats. Despite failing to find the net in a 2-1 loss to Clermont, experienced forward Alexandre Lacazette will be the man to watch in the home team, while midfielder Corentin Tolisso misses out through suspension.
The visitors, on the other hand, played out a goalless draw with Le Havre at the weekend, but they are seen as underdogs in Sunday’s showdown. As Lyon want this win more than Metz, we predict that the struggling French powerhouse will finally give fans something to cheer about. This goal gave him a reputation of a big game player, one he went on to uphold on various occasions at his club. Lacazette is a hard working forward an accomplished finisher of the ball able to score from different positions. The most prolific striker in his side and among the top ones in the Ligue 1, Alexandre Lacazette scored more than 20 league goals last two seasons on a trot.

Thanks to amalgamation of two amateur clubs Metz were founded in 1932 and soon they became a professional team. Les Grenats are one of the oldest professional teams in France, but they have yet to win the Ligue 1 trophy. Metz finished the 1997/1998 season in second place in the standings and it has to be noted that they were level on points with champions Lens (worse goal difference).
However, les Grenats won Coupe de France on two occasions (1983/1984, 1987/1988), with the team beating Monaco and Sochaux respectively in the title games.
