Our prediction for this Ligue 1 match:
Sunday’s football game at Stade de la Beaujoire pits together Nantes and Nice, the two teams who sit in the opposite halves of the table. Nantes have been slipping down the standings week by week, and, no doubt, they are desperate to put an end to their three-game losing run. All Charles Traore, Sebastien Corchia, Andy Delort, and Quentin Merlin remain on the sidelines with injuries, but there are no fresh selection worries in the home team.
Les Aiglons, on the other hand, are eager to represent France in European competitions for yet another term. Nice have been in a fine form of late, but beating Nantes on the road is easier said than done. Taking everything into account, we believe that there is a big value in betting on draw. In the first half of the season the two teams shared the spoils. As for the away side, all Melvin Bard, Antoine Mendy, Aaron Ramsey, Joe Bryan, and Nicolas Pepe miss out through injuries.
Highlighted Player (Alban Lafont):
Alban Lafont is a French goalkeeper who plays for Ligue 1 side Toulouse. Born in Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso, Lafont joined AS Lattoise youth school at the age of nine and he stayed at the academy until 2014 when he moved to Toulouse.
The 193-cm-tall goalkeeper has established himself as a first-choice goalkeeper at Toulouse and it has to be noted that he made 36 appearances for the club in the 2016/2017 season, keeping 10 clean sheets in the process. Due to his dual citizenship, Alban Lafont is eligible to represent both Burkina Faso and France on international stage, but he has yet to play for the African team.
Alban Lafont represented les Tricolores at youth level and, no doubt, there is a bright future ahead of the talented shoot-stopper who was born on January 23, 1999. The rising star has a contract with Toulouse which expires on June 30, 2020.
Highlighted Team (Nice):
OGC Nice are a football club that participate in French Ligue 1. Les Aiglons welcome their opponents at Allianz Riviera and the club was founded on 9 July, 1904 by Marquis Massengy d’ Auzac.
OGC Nice won their first Ligue 1 trophy back in 1951 and eight years later they clinched their fourth and last domestic title. Speaking of the French Cup, les Aiglons won their third Coupe de France title in 1997. Allianz Riviera has been the home ground of the club since September, 2013 and it has to be noted that the construction of the venue cost €250 million. OGC Nice play their home games in red and black shirts and black shorts, while the colour of their away kits is white.
The Ligue 1 team booked their place in the Europa League group stages for the 2016/2017 season for the first time in the club’s history and they were drawn alongside Schalke 04, Salzburg and Krasnodar in Group I. However, they were beaten by Schalke in their Europa League opener in front of home fans.
