Our prediction for this Ligue 1 match:
Stade de la Beaujoire will host Sunday’s football game between Nantes and Nice, who sit in the opposite halves of the table ahead of day 5. Nantes dropped to 12th place in the standings following back-to-back defeats to Rennes and Lyon, and, no doubt, they are low on confidence ahead of the visit of Nice. Keep in mind that Les Canaris will be without Anthony Limbombe, Wylan Cyprien, and Kalifa Coulibaly in Sunday’s clash.
Les Aiglons, on the other hand, aim to build on thrilling wins over Lille (4-0) and Bordeaux (4-0), and given Nantes’ form before the international break, we believe that there is a big value in betting on the visiting team. Jordan Lotomba will have to serve his one-match ban against les Canaris, while Denmark international Kasper Dolberg is rated doubtful for the game. The likes of Atal, Guessand, Schneiderlin, and Claude Maurice remain in the treatment room.
Highlighted Player (Alban Lafont):
Alban Lafont is a French goalkeeper who plays for Ligue 1 side Toulouse. Born in Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso, Lafont joined AS Lattoise youth school at the age of nine and he stayed at the academy until 2014 when he moved to Toulouse.
The 193-cm-tall goalkeeper has established himself as a first-choice goalkeeper at Toulouse and it has to be noted that he made 36 appearances for the club in the 2016/2017 season, keeping 10 clean sheets in the process. Due to his dual citizenship, Alban Lafont is eligible to represent both Burkina Faso and France on international stage, but he has yet to play for the African team.
Alban Lafont represented les Tricolores at youth level and, no doubt, there is a bright future ahead of the talented shoot-stopper who was born on January 23, 1999. The rising star has a contract with Toulouse which expires on June 30, 2020.
Highlighted Team (Nice):
OGC Nice are a football club that participate in French Ligue 1. Les Aiglons welcome their opponents at Allianz Riviera and the club was founded on 9 July, 1904 by Marquis Massengy d’ Auzac.
OGC Nice won their first Ligue 1 trophy back in 1951 and eight years later they clinched their fourth and last domestic title. Speaking of the French Cup, les Aiglons won their third Coupe de France title in 1997. Allianz Riviera has been the home ground of the club since September, 2013 and it has to be noted that the construction of the venue cost €250 million. OGC Nice play their home games in red and black shirts and black shorts, while the colour of their away kits is white.
The Ligue 1 team booked their place in the Europa League group stages for the 2016/2017 season for the first time in the club’s history and they were drawn alongside Schalke 04, Salzburg and Krasnodar in Group I. However, they were beaten by Schalke in their Europa League opener in front of home fans.
