Our prediction for this Ligue 1 match:
High-flying PSG will be aiming to clinch their 12th Ligue 1 trophy when they take on Le Havre in the Ligue 1 round 31. Les Parisiens faced no difficulties in a 4-1 win over Lorient, but bear in mind that they will be with one foot on the Champions League clash with Borussia Dortmund this time out. Luis Enrique is likely to shuffle his pack, with all Randal Kolo Muani, Carlos Soler, and Manuel Ugarte pushing for a start. All Layvin Kurzawa, Sergio Rico, and Presnel Kimpembe remain in the recovery room.
Le Club Doyen, on the other hand, are stuck in the relegation zone and given their poor form in the French top flight, home win should definitely be considered. Le Havre, who have suffered four defeats in the previous five league matches, have not defeated PSG in “the City of Lights” since January 1998. There are no fresh injury worries in the visiting team.
Highlighted Player (Danilo Pereira):
Born in Bissau, Guinea-Bissau, on September 9, 1991, Danilo Pereira is a defensive midfielder who plays for Primeira Liga club, Porto. Pereira spent his youth career at Arsenal 72, Estoril, and Benfica, but he did not continue playing for the Eagles at the senior level.
He started his senior career at Italian club Parma, and after ending his loan spells with Aris and Roda, the 188-cm-tall midfielder moved to Maritimo in the summer of 2013. After scoring four goals in 57 league appearances for Maritimo, Danilo Pereira signed a four-year deal with Porto in 2015. He made his debut with the Dragons in the Portuguese top flight on August 15, 2015, in a 3-0 win over Guimaraes.
Despite being born in Guinea-Bissau, the Porto midfielder decided to represent Portugal on the international stage. He made his Portugal debut in a 2-0 loss to Cape Verde in March 2015. His primary position is a defensive midfielder, but he is used as a centre-back as well.
Highlighted Team (PSG):
Formed by the merger of Paris FC and Stade Saint-Germain in 1970, Paris Saint-Germain or as they call it PSG is the most successful club in French football with 31 domestic titles to their name. Having won six Ligue 1 title so far, a record ten Coupes de France, a record six Coupes de la Ligue, six Trophees des Champions and one Ligue 2 title, PSG are also one of only two French clubs to ever win a European title.
Les Parisiens were crowned UEFA Cup Winners’ Cup champions back in 1995-96, while their last European trophy was the 2001 UEFA Intertoto Cup. Beginning of the new millennium was particularly hard for the celebrated club who flirted with relegation in 2000s before they were bought by the Quatar Sports Investments group in 2011 when the rebirth of the Paris Saint-Germain as we know it today began.
Following heavy squad investments and team boosting, PSG won their first Ligue 1 title in 19 years with Swedish legend Zlatan Ibrahimovic almost singlehandedly leading his side towards the trophy with 30 goals. Having established domestic dominance, PSG now set their sights on winning the Champions League which remains an elusive dream for the club from Paris.
