Our prediction for this Ligue 1 match:
Strasbourg will be looking to build on a 2-1 win over Metz when they take on Angers in the Ligue 1 round 26. Le Racing have been having their ups and downs in the second half of the season, but the triumph over les Grenats gave them a confidence boost. Strasbourg aim to keep on climbing the standings, and they should take advantage of Angers’ current form, which is anything but good.
Les Scoistes, on the other hand, experienced all sorts of problems at the back in back-to-back losses to Nice (0-3) and Nantes (1-3), and given Strasbourg’s display in the triumph over Metz, we believe that punters can find value in betting on the hosts. The likes of Zohi, Prcic, Simakan, Mothiba, and Sels are likely to miss the game through injuries for the hosts, while Amadou, Bahoken, Alioui, and Ebosse remain in Angers’ recovery room.
Highlighted Player (Alexander Djiku):
Alexander Djiku is yet another product of Bastia youth school. Djiku’s main position is centre-back, but he is used as a right-back as well. The 182-cm tall footballer of Senegalese descent made his senior debut with Bastia in December 2013 in a Coupe de la Ligue game against Evian.
After scoring one goal in 45 appearances for les Bleus in the league, Djiku joined Ligue 1 side Caen on July 11, 2017, signing a four-year contract with the Stade Michel D’Ornano outfit. The French defender has a contract with Caen, which should expire on June 30, 2022.
Djiku is well known for his reckless tackles and it is important to note that he was shown 10 yellow cards in 28 appearances for Caen in the 2017/2018 Ligue 1 campaign. Alexander Djiku wears No. 24 jersey when playing for Caen, but he has yet to make his debut with the French national team.
Highlighted Team (Angers):
French Football Federation was founded in 1919, with French football club Angers being founded the same year. Les Scoistes returned to the French top flight at the end of the 2014/2015 season and they finished the 2015/2016 Ligue 1 campaign in ninth place in the standings.
Angers were having their ups and downs in the 2016/2017 season and, as a result, they finished 12th. Les Scoistes are well known for their black jerseys with white stripes, whilst the color of their away kits is white. Stade Raymond Kopa is the team’s home ground and the capacity of the stadium is 17.835.
The venues was opened back in 1912 and the stadium’s record attendance is 22.989 (April 26, 1969 vs. Olympique Marseille). Speaking of the club’s most notable players, we have to mention Fahid Ben Khalfallah, Vladica Kovacevic, Claudiu Keseru, Paul Alo’o, Amar Rouai and Cedric Daury. It has to be noted that the 2017/2018 season will be their 24th in the French top flight.
