Our prediction for this MLS match:
Audi Field will host Thursday’s MLS game between DC United and New York City. The capital club have been having their ups and downs of late, with the team losing to Columbus Crew, beating DC United, while sharing the spoils with Inter Miami. Chris Durkin serves a one-game ban, while all Andy Najar, Chris Odoi-Atsem, Moses Nyeman, and Adrien Perez.
The Blue Pigeons, on the other hand, have been in a fine form of late, with the team beating four of their last five league fixtures. New York City aim to build on a 2-0 win over Columbus, but beating DC United on the road is easier said than done. A close encounter is on the cards, and we believe that punters from all around the globe can find value in betting on draw. Defender Anton Tinnerholm remains on the sidelines with injury for the away side.
Highlighted Player (Felipe Martins):
Felipe Campanholi Martins is a Brazilian footballer who was born on September 30, 1990 in Engenheiro Beltrao. After playing for the likes of PSTC-Londrina, Atletico Catarinense and Campo Grande during his youth career, he started his senior career at Padova.
The Brazilian midfielder appeared in no more than four league matches for the Italian club and in 2009 he moved to Switzerland, signing a deal with FC Winterthur. At the end of the season he joined fellow Swiss Super League club Lugano and he quickly established himself as a first-team regular. In the winter of 2011 Felipe moved to MLS, signing a deal with expansion team Montreal Impact.
He scored his first MLS goal in a 2-0 win over Sporting Kansas City on May 5, 2012 and he has been playing an important role in the team ever since. Felipe has yet to represent Brazil at senior level, but he could play for Canada national team in the future as he applied for permanent residency.
Highlighted Team (New York City):
New York City are an American soccer club and they have been competing in Major League Soccer since 2015. The Pigeons play their home games at Yankee Stadium and they are the second club in New York after the New York Red Bulls.
Famous Arsenal player Patrick Vieira took over the reins in January, 2016 and he helped the team finish the season in second place in the Eastern Conference. However, they were totally outclassed by Toronto FC (0-7 on aggregate) in the conference semifinals.
New York City chiefs have been pumping up a lot of money into the squad ever since the team began play in MLS and it has to be noted that the likes of Andrea Pirlo and David Villa played for the Pigeons in the 2016 season. New York City footballers wear sky blue shirts when playing at home, while the colour of the team’s away kit is dark blue.
Companies City Football Group (80%) and Yankee Global Enterprises own the club.
