Our prediction for this MLS match:
DC United will be aiming to recover from a 3-1 loss to Atlanta United when they take on Real Salt Lake on Sunday morning. The capital club are undefeated in the previous four home fixtures and they are certainly capable of matching the Royals in front of home fans. All Theodore Ku-DiPietro, Andy Najar, Luis Zamudio, Ruan, Mohanad Jeahze, Nigel Robertha, and Martin Rodriguez are all out of contention through injuries.
Real Salt Lake, on the other hand, head into the match following a goalless draw with New York City. The Royals have been producing fine displays on the road of late, which is probably the main reason why we predict they will grab something from Sunday’s clash. The visitors will be without Bryan Oviedo, Erik Holt, and Zack Farnsworth in the Audi Field showdown. In their last meeting in the Major League Soccer the two sides played out a goalless draw.
Highlighted Player (Christian Benteke):
Christian Benteke, born on 3th of December 1990 is a Belgian football player with roots from Congo. Benteke started his career at KRC Genk and after playing for Standard Liege, KV Mechelen, KV Kortrijk and Aston Villa the striker got transferred to Liverpool. Benteke is 191cm and is known for being a very strong goal scoring striker. In May 2010 Benteke made his debut for the Belgian national team.
Christian Benteke didn’t win any mayor prices yet. In the season 2008/2009 he won the national league of Belgium. Benteke is signed by Nike and got transferred to Liverpool for 46 million euro which makes him the second most expensive football player from Belgium. Benteke’s nickname is The Beast or Bentegoal.
Highlighted Team (Real Salt Lake):
Real Salt Lake joined Major League Soccer in 2005 as an expansion team of the league and four years later they won their first MLS Cup. The Royals faced star-studded Los Angeles Galaxy in the title game at Qwest Field in Seattle and Jason Kreis’ troops defeated David Beckham and Co. on penalties.
In 2013 Real Salt Lake made it to the MLS Cup final for the second time in the club’s history, but they were beaten by Sporting Kansas City on penalties this time out. The Royals participated in the CONCACAF Champions League final in 2011 as well, but Monterrey of Mexico eventually won the title. Real Salt Lake footballers wear red shirts and blue shorts when playing at home, while the colour of their away kit is white.
The likes of Clint Mathis, Jeff Cunningham and Eddie Pope are some of the notable footballers who played for the club in the past. Jeff Cunningham scored 19 goals in 32 appearances in the league for the Royals.
