Our prediction for this MLS match:
Cincinnati will look to start 2023 season in style when they face Houston Dynamo at their TQL Stadium. Cincinnati experienced all sorts of problems at the back in their last warm-up game, with the team losing to Nashville 6-3, and you should bear in mind that over 3.5 goals have been netted in each of their four pre-season matches. A man to watch in the home team will be new signing Yerson Mosquera, who joined the club from Premier League side Wolverhampton. Brazil international Brenner is widely expected to lead the line for the hosts.
The Orange Crush, on the other hand, did well to beat Dallas 2-0 in their last warm-up match, but they will have a much bigger fish to fry in the season opener. Since Houston are not regarded as good travellers, we are tempted to bet on Cincinnati. Djevencio van der Kust is likely to make his Houston Dynamo debut in Sunday’s showdown.
Highlighted Player (Luciano Acosta):
Luciano Acosta is a professional footballer who plays for DC United as an attacking midfielder. Acosta was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina on May 31, 1994 and he started his senior career at his hometown club Boca Juniors. After scoring 2 goals in 25 appearances for the famous Argentine club, the 160-cm tall footballer joined Estudiantes on loan in 2016.
In 2017 he moved to DC United and he has been playing for the MlS club ever since. Luciano Acosta impressed in the 2018 season, with the Argentina international scoring 10 goals, while providing 15 assists for his teammates in the process. Despite producing thrilling showings in the 2018 MLS campaign, he has yet to earn a call-up for the Argentina national football team.
Acosta’s main position is attacking midfielder, but he is capable of playing as both second striker and centre forward as well. He has a contract with DC United which should expire on December 31, 2019 and his preferred foot is right.
Highlighted Team (Houston Dynamo):
Houston Dynamo is an American professional soccer club owned by Jake Silverstein, Gabriel Brener, Ben Guull and Oscar De La Hoya, who is considered one of the greatest boxers of all time.
BBVA Compass Stadium is Dynamo’s home ground and the capacity of the venue is 22.039. Houston Dynamo won back-to-back MLS Cup trophies (2006, 2007), with the team beating New England Revolution in each of the two title games. It has to be noted that Houston finished the 2011 and the 2012 seasons as runners-up.
In 2008 the Dynamo made it to the North American SuperLiga final, but this time out their old rivals New England Revolution proved to be a big catch for the BBVA Compass Stadium outfit. FC Dallas are regarded as the club’s main rivals and the two teams face each other in the Texas derby. Houston have developed a rivalry with Sporting Kansas City as well. The colors of the club are orange, black and white.
