Our prediction for this MLS match:
Following a 2-0 loss to Atlanta United, Inter Miami will look to return to winning ways in MLS when they take on Minnesota United on Sunday. The 2022 MLS season has been a mixed bag for Inter, who occupy 10th place in the Eastern Conference ahead of the visit of Minnesota United. Experienced forward Gonzalo Higuain has lost his place in the starting XI, but the former Juventus ace could play some part in Sunday’s clash.
Jean Mota is banned for the match, while all Joevin Jones, Nick Marsman, Brek Shea, and Ian Fray are out of contention through injuries. The Loons, on the other hand, head into the match following back-to-back losses to New York City and New England Revolution. Minnesota United suffered a dip in form, but they are surely capable of holding Inter Miami to a draw as Higuan and Co. are no longer considered one of the teams to beat in MLS. As for the away side, all Hassani Dotson, Romain Metanire, and Patrick Weah miss out with injuries.
Highlighted Player (Gonzalo Higuain):
Widely regarded as one of the most talented strikers of his generation, Argentina’s Gonzalo Higuain started his career with River Plate. A transfer to Real Madrid for €12 million in 2007 catapulted him to the top league. His six years at Madrid was capped with three La Liga titles and 107 goals in 190 appearances.
Higuain became a crowd favorite at the Santiago Bernabeu and there was wide spread resentment among supporters over his transfer to Italian club Napoli in 2013 for a reported €40 million. Although he wasn’t able to win the Serie A, he carried the hopes of Napoli in 2015-16 and equaled 87-year-old record of 36 goals in a top-flight season.
Higuain or El Pipita as he is fondly called has also been a regular with his country having represented Argentina at two FIFA World Cups and as many Copa America tournaments. Higuain has a great eye for the goal and his goal scoring record bears a testament to this.
Highlighted Team (Minnesota United):
Based in the Minneapolis-Saint Paul area, Minnesota United are a professional soccer club that will compete in the Western Conference in the Major League Soccer from 2017. The Loons will make their MLS debut against Portland Timbers on March 4, 2017 and, no doubt, they have big ambitions for the forthcoming season.
Minnesota United are the sixth team to join MLS from a lower division and they will welcome their rivals at TCF Bank Stadium. The capacity of the stadium is 52.525 and it was opened in September, 2009. Bill McGuire is the club’s owner and he is on a quest to turn Minnesota United into a top-table side in the Western Conference.
Adrian Heath will be in charge of the club in the 2017 season and it has to be noted that the English tactician used to train the likes of Manchester City, Everton, Aston Villa and Espanyol in the past. You should know that the club was founded on March 25, 2015.
