Our prediction for this MLS match:
Banc of California will host Sunday’s local derby between Los Angeles FC and LA Galaxy. Los Angeles FC suffered a dip in form, with the team losing each of their last four league fixtures, meaning that the lack of confidence could prove to be a big problem for the home side. Since key attacker Carlos Vela suffered a quadriceps injury in the 2-1 loss to Vancouver, we do not believe that home win should be considered.
In his absence, fellow attacker Diego Rossi is widely expected to lead the line for the hosts. Los Angeles Galaxy, on the other hand, aim to make amends for back-to-back defeats to Colorado Rapids and San Jose Earthquakes, but the local derby will be anything but a walk in the park for the away team. A close encounter is on the cards, and we believe that punters can find value in betting on draw. Spanish midfielder Victor Vazquez should be recalled to LA Galaxy’s starting XI after finding the net in the 2-1 loss to San Jose.
Highlighted Player (Andy Najar):
Andy Najar is a Honduras footballer who plays for both Anderlecht and the Honduras national team. Najar is a product of D.C. United’s youth academy and it has to be noted that he was named in the USSF Development Academy starting XI in 2009. The Honduras player made his senior debut for D.C. United on March 27, 2010 in a game against Kansas City Wizards.
Andy Najar scored his first professional goal one month later in a match against Dallas. Najar impressed in the 2010 MLS season and, as a result, he received the Rookie of the Year award. Speaking of his international career, Andy Najar made his Honduras debut on September 3, 2011, coming as a substitute in a friendly game against Colombia.
The right-footed winger (full-back) represented Honduras at the 2012 Olympics and he scored his first goal for los Catrachos against Costa Rica in the 2013 CONCACAF Gold Cup knockout stages. Andy Najar was born on March 16, 1993 in Choluteca.
Highlighted Team (Los Angeles Galaxy):
Los Angeles Galaxy are probably the most famous American soccer club. The club have been participating in the MLS since 1996 and San Jose Earthquakes are considered their bitterest rivals. A number of top-class players were part of the team in the past, but, no doubt, David Beckham is the club’s most significant star. The former Manchester United star played for LA Galaxy from 2007 to 2012 and he scored 18 goals in 98 appearances in the league for the club.
Fellow England international Steven Gerrard is yet another Premier League ace who joined LA Galaxy. Stevie G signed a $9 million deal with the club in June, 2015. One year before he arrived to Los Angeles, the Galaxy won their fifth MLS Cup, with the team beating New England Revolution (2-1) in the final of the tournament, but winning the CONCACAF Champions League in 2000 is considered the club’s biggest success. The MLS outfit outplayed Olimpia of Honduras in the title game, with Ezra Hendrickson scoring the winning goal ten minutes before the final whistle.
Los Angeles Galaxy play their home games at StubHub Center, the stadium that was opened on June 1, 2003. The capacity of the venue is 27.000.
