Our prediction for this MLS match:
There will be fireworks when New York Red Bulls and New York City go head to head at Red Bull Arena in the local derby. The Metros desperately needed a win against Columbus in midweek, and they managed to get one thanks to John Tolkin’s goal. New York Red Bulls aim to give fans yet another reason for celebration, but they will have a big fish to fry in Sunday’s derby. All Diarra, Harper, and Long are likely to miss the game through injuries for the home team.
The Blue Pigeons, on the other hand, aim to bounce back from a 1-0 loss to Philadelphia Union. New York City are determined to overtake Nashville in second place in the standings, but beating the Metros at Red Bull Arena is easier said than done. Taking everything into account, we believe that there is a big value in betting on draw. Both Heber and Zelalem remain in the away team’s recovery room.
Highlighted Player (Daniel Royer):
Daniel Royer is an Austrian winger who was born in Schladming on May 22, 1990. After starting his youth career at local club Schladming, Royer moved to Sturm Graz in 2004. Five years later the 175-cm-tall footballer began his senior career at Pashing and after scoring 6 goals in 25 appearances for the club, he moved to Ried.
Daniel Royer played for the likes of Hannover, Koln, Austria Wien and Midtjylland as well before joining New York Red Bulls in 2016. In the 2017 MLS season the Austria international established himself as a first-team regular, scoring no less than 12 goals in the process.
Speaking of his international career, Royer made his Austria debut on June 3, 2011, replacing Martin Harnik in the EURO 2012 qualifier against Germany. Daniel Royer’s main position is left winger, but is used as a right winger as well. It has to be noted that the Austria international doesn’t have a preferred foot.
Highlighted Team (New York City):
New York City are an American soccer club and they have been competing in Major League Soccer since 2015. The Pigeons play their home games at Yankee Stadium and they are the second club in New York after the New York Red Bulls.
Famous Arsenal player Patrick Vieira took over the reins in January, 2016 and he helped the team finish the season in second place in the Eastern Conference. However, they were totally outclassed by Toronto FC (0-7 on aggregate) in the conference semifinals.
New York City chiefs have been pumping up a lot of money into the squad ever since the team began play in MLS and it has to be noted that the likes of Andrea Pirlo and David Villa played for the Pigeons in the 2016 season. New York City footballers wear sky blue shirts when playing at home, while the colour of the team’s away kit is dark blue.
Companies City Football Group (80%) and Yankee Global Enterprises own the club.
