Our prediction for this MLS match:
Portland Timbers and Real Salt Lake go head to head at Providence Park in what is expected to be one of the most entertaining games of Thursday’s program. Portland are on a four-game losing run in all competitions, with the team conceding eight goals in total in back-to-back losses to Houston Dynamo (0-5) and Vancouver Whitecaps (2-3) and that is the main reason why home win should not be considered.
The Royals, on the other hand, aim to recover from a 3-0 loss to Houston. Considering that both sides will go for a victory in the midweek clash, we are tempted to put our money on both teams to score. Both Erik Holt and Pablo Ruiz miss out with injuries, but there are no suspended players in the visiting team ahead of the trip to Portland. In their last meeting at the venue (US Open Cup) Real Salt Lake defeated Portland Timbers 4-3.

In 2013 Real Salt Lake made it to the MLS Cup final for the second time in the club’s history, but they were beaten by Sporting Kansas City on penalties this time out.
