Our prediction for this MLS match:
Lumen Field will host Thursday’s MLS game between Seattle Sounders and Montreal, the two teams who have big ambitions for the 2022 season. Seattle sit in 7th place in the Western Conference ahead of the visit of Montreal, but they are only five points behind 5th-place Austin. The Sounders proved their worth in a 3-0 win over Sporting Kansas City, and they are surely capable of matching the Canadians in front of home fans.
All Xavier Arreaga, Raul Ruidiaz, and Joao Paulo should miss out with injuries, speaking of the home team. Montreal, on the other hand, aim to build on a 2-1 win over Charlotte. The Canadian outfit, though, have been having their ups and downs on the road this term, which is probably the main reason why home win should be considered. All Djordje Mihailovic, Tomas Giraldo, and Bjorn Johnsen remain in the treatment room.
Highlighted Player (Jordy Delem):
Jordy Delem is a Seattle Sounders midfielder who represents Martinique on the international stage. Delem played for the likes of Club Franciscain, Arles-Avignon and Club Franciscain before joining Seattle Sounders in 2016. After making 19 appearances for Seattle Sounders 2 the Martinique footballer signed a first team deal with the MLS club in March, 2017.
It has to be noted that he played as a right back on his Seattle debut against Atlanta United (0-0). Jordy Delem represented Martinique at the 2013 CONCACAF Gold Cup, but he failed to impress in a 3-1 loss to Mexico. The 180-cm-tall player was born in Le Francois, Martinique and he has a contract with Seattle Sounders which expires in December, 2017.
His main position is defensive midfield, but, as previously mentioned, he is capable of playing as a full back as well. Jordy Delem has both Martinique and France passports, but he decided to represent les Matinino on the international stage.
Highlighted Team (Montreal CF):
Club de Foot Montréal is a Canadian soccer team, but they compete in Major League Soccer. They are a member of the Eastern Conference and they have been participating in the major league since 2012. Montreal welcome their opponents at Saputo Stadium and the capacity of the club’s home ground is 20.801.
The construction of the stadium cost CA$17 million and the venue was opened on May 18, 2008. The Saputo family invested $7.5 million in the construction of the stadium and, as a result, the venue was named Saputo Stadium. Montreal CF did remarkably well to make it to the CONCACAF Champions League final in the 2014/2015 season, but Mexican team America proved to be a big catch for the Canadian outfit in the title game.
Speaking of the Canadian championship, the Impact won their third domestic trophy in 2014, with the team beating Toronto FC in the final of the tournament. Montreal Impact play their home matches in blue and black shirts and black shorts, while the colour of their away kit is white.
