Our prediction for this MLS match:
Toronto will be aiming to get their revenge on Orlando City for the loss at Exploria Stadium when the two teams face each other at BMO Field on Sunday morning. The Reds are no longer considered the team to beat in MLS, with the team already suffering four defeats in the process. Toronto are determined to return to winning ways, but this game will be anything but a walk in the park for the hosts. Attacker Yeferson Soteldo is on international duty with Venezuela. As always, a man to watch in the home team will be experienced midfielder Michael Bradley.
The Lions, on the other hand, made a promising start to the season, with the team sitting in third position in Eastern Conference ahead of the trip to Canada. Orlando aim to overtake Philadelphia in the second place, and we predict that they will take advantage of Toronto’s shaky defence. Attacker Silvester van der Water is pushing for a start after finding the net in the 2-1 loss to New York Red Bulls. Orlando City duo Pedro Gallese – Sebasian Mendez is on international duty.
Highlighted Player (Laurent Ciman):
Laurent Ciman is a Belgium international who plays for Montreal Impact in Major League Soccer. The defender who was born in Farciennes on August 5, 1985 played for Charleroi from 2004 to 2008 and he made no less than 85 league appearances for the Belgian outfit.
During the 2007/2008 season he was on Club Brugge’s radar and in the summer of 2008 he joined the Blauw-Zwart. After ending his loan spell with Kortijk Laurent Ciman joined fellow Belgian club Standard Liege and he spent five seasons at Stade Maurice Dufrasne. On January 22, 2015 the defender signed a three-year contract with MLS club Montreal Impact and he has been playing for the Canadian outfit ever since.
Ciman represented Belgium at the 2008 Olympics and he did remarkably well to make Belgium 2014 FIFA World Cup squad. However, he was unused at the showpiece tournament in Brazil. The Montreal Impact footballer scored his first ever goal for Belgium in June, 2016 in a 3-2 victory over Norway.
Highlighted Team (Orlando City):
Orlando City are a member of the Eastern Conference in Major League Soccer. The Lions have been participating in the major league since 2015 and they host their rivals at Orlando City Stadium. The venue was opened in February, 2017 and the construction of the stadium cost $155 million. Orlando City finished the 2015 MLS season in seventh place in the Eastern Conference and they failed to make it to the play-offs in the 2016 season as well (8th place).
Brazilian ace Kaka is undisputedly the club’s most famous player and the former Real Madrid and Milan man became the highest-paid player in MLS history. His base salary was $6.6 million per year and it has to be noted that the Brazilian superstar found the net on his Orlando City debut against FC Dallas (friendly). Orlando City’s home kit is violet, while they wear white and violet shirts and white socks on the travels. The club’s official mascot is Kingston the Lion.
