Our prediction for this Netherlands Eredivisie match:
AZ Alkmaar will try to recover from a heart-breaking loss to Go Ahead Eagles in the Dutch Cup final when they face Breda in a postponed Eredivisie game. The Cheese Farmers are now on a seven-game winless run in all competitions, but they are seen as favourites to win Thursday’s encounter. Defender David Moller Wolfe is back from suspension, while important forward Troy Parrott is a major doubt after limping off with injury in the KNVB Beker final.
Carl Hoefkens’ men, on the other hand, are safe for now, with the team sitting in 15th place in the standings, seven points clear of the relegation zone. Given Breda’s difficulties on the road, AZ Alkmaar will not have a better chance than this to return to winning ways. To make things even worse for the away team, defender Jan Van den Bergh is banned for the visiting team.
