Our prediction for this Netherlands Eredivisie match:
Feyenoord play host to Zwolle at their De Kuip in what is expected to be a David-vs-Goliath clash. Feyenoord are eyeing their fifth consecutive win in all competitions and they are likely to adopt yet another attack-minded approach following a 3-1 win over Go Ahead Eagles. Liverpool target Arne Slot has no fresh injury concerns, but both Igor Paixao and Mats Wieffer remain in the recovery room.
Zwolle, on the other hand, have been showing signs of improvement of late, with the team beating both Excelsior and Heracles at home, while sharing the spoils with NEC Nijmegen. Johnny Jansen’s troops, though, are not regarded as good travellers and we do not believe that they are capable of spoiling Feyenoord’s party in Rotterdam. To make things even worse for the visiting team, both Younes Namli and Thomas Lam are banned for the match. Davy van den Berg remains in the treatment room.
Highlighted Player (Alireza Jahanbakhsh):
Born in Jirandeh, Iran on August 11 1990, Alireza Jahanbakhsh is a footballer who plays for AZ Alkmaar in Holland. Before AZ, Jahanbakhsh played for NEC in the Eredivisie, but he began his youth career at Payam Alborz Qazvin. Speaking of his senior debut, he made it with Damash Tehran in the 2010/2011 season.
In 2011 he moved to fellow Iranian club Damash Gilan and it has to be noted that he scored 10 goals in 44 appearances in the league for the club. The AZ Alkmaar winger, who is used as an attacking midfielder as well, scored 21 goals in 33 appearances in the Eredivisie in the 2017/2018 season. Speaking of his international career, Alireza JahanBakhsh scored two goals for Iran on the road to Russia and he will represent his homeland at the 2018 FIFA world cup finals.
Due to his style of play, Jahanbakhsh has always been compared to legendary Iranian footballer Mehdi Mahdavikia.
Highlighted Team (Zwolle):
Founded on June 12, 1910, PEC Zwolle is a Dutch football club which competes in the Eredivisie. Zwolle have yet to win the national championship, but they did remarkably well to lift the Dutch Cup trophy in 2014. Ron Jans’s troops impressed in the title game, with the team rolling over Dutch giants Ajax 5-1.
The Blauwingers play their home games at MACPARK Stadion, the venue with the capacity of 14,000 people. The multi-use stadium was opened on August 29, 2009. Zwolle’s home kit is blue and white, while the colour of their away jersey is green and white. In the 2014/15 season the Blauwingers represented the Netherlands in the Europa League, with the team losing to Sparta Prague in the play-off round.
The likes of Henk Timmer (237), Johan Hansma (231), Bert Konterman (219), Arne Slot (208), and Jasper Drost (182) are the players with the most league appearances for the club. Go Ahead Eagles are considered the club’s biggest rivals as both teams are located at the river Ijssel.
