All eyes will be on Sparta Stadion Het Kasteel when Sparta Rotterdam and Ajax face each other in the Eredivisie round 14. The Rotterdammers aim to make amends for a 1-0 loss to Twente, but they will have a mountain to climb in Sunday’s football match. Head coach Henk Fraser should have a full squad to choose from, with both Meijers and Engels pushing for a star.
The Amsterdammers, on the other hand, rolled over RKC 5-0 in their last league match to retain top position in the standings. PSV, though, are still breathing down Ajax’s neck, which is probably the main reason why we are tempted to put our money on the title holders. Erik ten Hag can count on key players for Sunday’s clash as well. In their last meeting at the venue Ajax defeated Sparta thanks to Antony’s goal.

Bryan Smeets is a product of MVV Maastricht football academy who plays for Sparta Rotterdam in the Dutch Eredivisie. Smeets scored 23 goals in 144 league appearances for MVV before joining De Graafschap in 2015.
After his spell with the Superboeren, the midfielder moved to Cambuur in the 2017/18 season. The following season he joined Israeli club Maccabi Tel Aviv where he scored 12 goals in 37 appearances in the elite division. Bryan Smeets then decided to return to Netherlands as he joined Sparta Rotterdam in the 2019/20 season. He scored his first goal with De Kasteelheren in a 4-0 win over RKS Waalwijk on September 21, 2019.
His main position is attacking midfielder, but he is used as both central midfielder and right winger as well. Bryan Smeets has a contract with Sparta Rotterdam which should expire on June 30, 2021. He is a two-footed player.

Ajax is a Dutch football club that was founded on 18 March, 1900. Ajax are well known for their youth academy, which regarded as one of the best youth football schools in the world. The likes of Johan Cruijff, Edwin van der Sar, Dennis Bergkamp, Patrick Kluivert, Rafael van der Vaart and Marco van Basten are all products of Ajax’s football academy. The Amsterdammers share a big rivalry with Feyenoord and there have always been fireworks when the two teams face each other in De Klassieker.
