Our prediction for this Netherlands Eredivisie match:
High-flying Utrecht will look to extend their winning run to four games when they face Heracles in the Eredivisie round 23. Ron Jans’ troops have been scoring goals for fun of late and they are likely to stick to their attacking style of play against Heracles. USA midfielder Taylor Booth limped off with injury in a hard-fought 1-0 win over Twente, with Jeppe Okkels likely to replace him in the starting XI.
Erwin van de Looi’s troops, on the other hand, failed to spoil PSV’s party at Philips Stadion and given their difficulties on the road, we believe that there is a big value in betting on the in-form hosts. Belgian forward Bryan Limbombe is banned for the match, while all Sava Cestic, Diego van Oorschot, and Nikolai Laursen remain on the sidelines with injuries. In the first half of the season Utrecht defeated Heracles 3-1.
Highlighted Player (Mike van der Hoorn):
Mike van der Hoorn is a Dutch international who plays for Arminia Bielefeld as a centre-back. Van der Hoorn spent his youth career at the likes of Buitenboys, Omniworld and Utrecht, and he continued playing for the “Cathedral citizens” at senior level.
The Dutch footballer then joined Ajax where he scored three goals in 33 appearances in the Eredivisie. During his spell with the famous Eredivisie club he made 22 appearances for Jong Ajax as well. In 2016 he decided to move to UK as he signed a three-year deal with Swansea City.
After spending four seasons at the Liberty Stadium, Mikel van der Hoorn joined Arminia Bielefeld in the summer of 2020, during the coronavirus pandemic. The Dutch defender made his Bundesliga debut on September 19, 2020 in a 1-1 draw with Eintracht Frankfurt. His primary position is centre-back, and he has a contract with Arminia until June 30, 2023.
Highlighted Team (Heracles):
Heracles is a professional Dutch club based in Almelo. The club was formed back in May 1903 and named after Heracles, the demigod son of Zeus. From 1974 to 1998 the club played under the name of SC Heracles ’74. The Heraclieden’s home colours are black and white, while blue is the dominant colour of their away shirt.
Twente are considered one of the club’s main rivals in the Netherlands. Speaking of the club’s achievements, it has to be noted that Heracles have won two Eredivisie trophies (1926/27, 1940/41). In the 2011/12 season they made it to the Dutch Cup final. Heracles faced PSV in the title game, with the Dutch giants proving to be a big catch for the underdogs.
PSV won the game 3-0. In the 2016/17 season Heracles participated in the Europa League, with the team suffering elimination to Arouca in the third qualifying round. Everton is leading the club’s all-time goal-scoring chart with 77 goals.
