Our prediction for this Netherlands Eredivisie match:
Mandemakers Stadion will host Sunday’s football game between RKC Waalwijk and Vitesse, the two teams with entirely different ambitions in the 2021/22 Eredivisie season. RKC’s main goal is to secure the elite division survival, while the Vitas are once again eyeing a place in European competitions. Anyhow, home win should not be considered as Joseph Oosting’s troops have been struggling at the back at the start of the season.
A man to watch in the home team will be Michiel Kramer, who scored a brace in the 2-2 draw with Fortuna Sittard. Vitesse failed to spoil Ajax’s party at Johan Cruijff Arena (0-5), but they should take advantage of RKC’s shaky defence. Fit-again Morocco international Oussama Tannane is widely expected to return to the starting XI. You should bear in mind that Vitesse defeated RKC 1-0 in their last meeting at the venue.
Highlighted Player (Konstantinos Lamprou):
Konstantinos Lamprou is a Greek goalkeeper who plays for Eredivisie club RKC Waalwijk. Kostas is a product of the famous Ajax football academy, but he eventually decided to join Feyenoord football school. The 178-cm-tall shot-stopper continued playing for Feyenoord at senior level, making 14 league appearances for De Trots van Zuid.
During his spell with Feyenoord, Kostas Lamprou played for the likes of Excelsior and Willem II on loan as well. In 2017 he returned to Ajax, but made no more than three appearances in the Eredivisie with the Amsterdammers.
In the 2019/20 season he did not see any game action with Vitesse, and, as a result, he decided to join RKC Waalwijk at the end of the campaign. Born in Athens on September 18, 1991, Konstantinos Lamprou has 14 caps for the Greece U21 team. He has yet to make his debut with the senior team. His preferred foot is left and he wears the No. 31 shirt at RKC Waalwijk.
Highlighted Team (Vitesse):
Nicknamed Vitas, the proud of Gelderland, Vitesse are a Dutch football club based in Arnhem. Vitesse compete in the Dutch Eredivisie and they have yet to win the national championship. However, they finished as runners-up in the Dutch elite division on five occasions (1897–98, 1902–03, 1912–13, 1913–14, 1914–15), while clinching third place in the standings in the 1997/1998 season.
Vitesse did remarkably well to win the 2016/2017 Dutch Cup title, with the team beating AZ Alkmaar in the final at De Kuip in Rotterdam. As a result, the Vitas booked their place in the Europa League group stages where they face the likes of Lazio, Nice and Zulte-Waregem.
Vitesse are well known for their yellow jerseys with black stripes, while the club’s away colour is black. GelreDome is the home ground of the Dutch team and the capacity of the venue is 21.248. It has to be noted that famous Spanish footballer Albert Ferrer was in charge of the club in the 2010/2011 season.
