Our prediction for this Netherlands Eredivisie match:
Zwolle and RKC face each other at MAC³PARK Stadion in what is expected to be an interesting Eredivisie clash. Zwolle suffered an expected 4-0 loss to Feyenoord in their last league match, with the team remaining in the relegation zone. The rock-bottom side have collected only four points in total in the 2021/2022 Eredivisie campaign, but this game could be the turning point for Dick Schreuder’s troops.
Both Pelle Clement and Sai van Wermeskerken are rated doubtful for the game. RKC, on the other hand, experienced all sorts of problems at the back in a 5-0 loss to AJAX. Since Zwolle will not have a better chance than this to get back on course, we predict that the visitors are going to return home empty-handed. All Min, Pereira, and van der Venne are major doubts, and the trio will be assessed ahead of the kick-off.
Highlighted Player (Thomas Lam):
Thomas Lam is a footballer who can play as both centre back and defensive midfielder. Lam was born in Amsterdam, Netherlands on 18 December, 1993, but seeing that his mother is Finnish, he was eligible to play for the Finland national team.
After making 11 appearances for the Finland U21 team, he made his debut for the senior team on 9 June, 2015, in a friendly against Estonia. He started the game, but the Finns suffered a 2-0 loss to the Estonians in Turku. Speaking of his club career, Thomas Lam played for AZ Alkmaar between 2011 and 2014 and then he joined fellow Eredivisie side Zwolle.
The 188-cm-tall footballer scored four goals in 64 appearances for the club and in July 2016 he signed a contract with Nottingham Forest. Lam won the KVNB Cup with AZ Alkmaar in 2013 and he was named Promising Player of the Year in 2011. His agent is world-famous Mino Raiola and his contract with Forest expires on 30 June, 2018.
Highlighted Team (Waalwijk):
RKC Waalwijk is a Dutch club that competes in the Eredivisie. RKC returned to the Dutch top flight in the 2019/20 season, and they were more than fortunate not to suffer relegation back to Eerste Divisie. Fred Grim’s men were stuck at the bottom of the table when the season was cancelled due to the coronavirus pandemic.
As a result, they did not drop to the Dutch second tier. RKC play home games at Mandemakers Stadion, the venue which can hold only 7,500 spectators. RKC Waalwijk are well known for their yellow shirts with blue strips, but their away kit is mainly black. The Mandemakers Stadion outfit have never won the national championship.
RKC, though, represented the Netherlands in European competitions in the past, with team taking part in Intertoto Cup on four occasions. Willem II are seen as one of the club’s main rivals, with the two teams facing each other in the Brabantse derby.
