Our prediction for this Portugal Primeira Liga match:
Estadio da Luz will host Saturday’s football match between Benfica and Boavista, the two teams with entirely different ambitions in the season finale. The Eagles are eyeing a place in the Champions League, and they head into the match following a routine 3-0 win over Belenenses. Haris Seferovic, who scored a brace in the 3-0 win over O Belem, will be the man to watch in the home team. The likes of Almeida and Nunez are likely to miss the game with injuries.
Boavista, on the other hand, are determined to secure the Primeira Liga survival. The Black and Whites have been producing fine displays at home ground of late, with the team beating both Famalicao and Moreirense, but given their poor away record, we do not believe that Jesualdo Ferreira’s troops are capable of spoiling Benfica’s party in Lisbon. Talented midfielder Miguel Reisinho remains in the recovery room.
Highlighted Player (Haris Seferovic):
Haris Seferovic is a Swiss international who plays for Primeira Liga club Benfica as a forward. Born in Sursee, Switzerland, on February 22, 1992, Seferovic began his youth career at his hometown club Sursee. In 2004 he moved to Luzern, and he continued his football development at Grasshoppers from 2007 to 2009.
The 189-cm-tall attacker, whose preferred foot is left, made three appearances for the Grasshopper senior team before joining Fiorentina in 2010. Haris Seferovic played for the likes of Xamax, Lecce, and Novara on loan as well before signing a deal with Real Sociedad in the 2013/2014 season.
In the summer of 2014, the Swiss international moved to Eintracht Frankfurt, where he scored 16 goals in 86 appearances in the German top flight. Seferovic, who plays for Benfica nowadays, did well to win the Primeira Liga trophy with the Eagles in the 2018/2019 season. His main position is centre-forward, but he is used as a left winger as well.
Highlighted Team (Boavista):
Founded on August 1, 1903, Boavista are a Portuguese club that welcome their rivals at Estadio do Bessa. The capacity of the venue is 28,263 and it was built back in 1911. As Panteras (The Panthers) are well known for their black and white shirts and white is the dominant colour of their away kit.
Famous Fellow city club Porto are considered Boavista’s main rivals and the two teams face each other in O Derby da Invicta and there have always been fireworks in clashes between the two local rivals. A Panteras did well to win their first and only Primeira Liga trophy in the 2000/2001 season, with the team finishing the campaign only one point clear of Porto.
Boavista have five Taca de Portugal trophies (1974/75, 1975/76, 1978/79, 1991/92, 1996/97), with the team winning Supertaca de Portugal three times (1979, 1992, 1997). Jose Bosingwa, Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink and Nuno Gomes are the notable footballers who played for Boavista in the past, to name just a few.
