Benfica will be looking to make a flying start to their Primeira Liga campaign when they face Estrela at Estadio Jose Gomes on Saturday. The Eagles faced no difficulties in the Champions League double-header with Nice and they are seen as hot favourites to win their Primeira Liga opener as well. As summer signings have already adapted to the new surroundings, anything but a routine away win would be a big surprise. All Florentino, Barreiro, Prestianni, Araujo, and Akturkoglu are pushing for a start as boss Bruno Lage is expected to shuffle his pack.
Os Tricolores, on the other hand, played out a 1-1 draw with Estoril on Monday, but they will have a much bigger fish to fry against the vice-champions. Taking everything into account, we predict that Benfica will record their tenth consecutive win over Estrela in all competitions. Both Robinho and Montoia are rated doubtful for the home side.
