Estadio Municipal de Portimao will host Sunday’s Primeira Liga game between Portimonense and Boavista, who face each other in the season opener. Portimonense impressed in pre-season, with the team beating all Sporting, Braga, Covilha, and Estrela, and, as a result, the odds for home win have been dropping. It has to be noted that the club chiefs have signed permanent deals with the likes of Moustapha Seck, Zie Ouattara, Rui Gomes, Klismahn, and Yago Cariello in the summer transfer window.
The Black and Whites, on the other hand, should be happy with one point from the season opener, and they are likely to adopt a cautious approach against Portimomense. Anyhow, home win should be considered as O Portimao enjoyed a very successful pre-season. Top scorer Petar Musa has left Boavista in the summer.

Achraf Lazaar was born in Casablanca, Morocco on January 22, 1992, but he moved to Italy with his parents in 2003. The left-footed footballer began his youth career at Raja Casablanca and he joined Varese’s youth academy in 2009.
Lazaar made his debut for the senior team in 2012. He made 37 league appearances for Varese, but he did not find the net during his spell at the Stadio Franco Ossola outfit. In January 2014 he signed a contract with Palermo and he has been playing for the Sicilian outfit ever since.Lazaar plays as a left back, but he is capable of producing fine displays as a left back as well. Seeing that he was unable to play for Italy, the Palermo footballer decided to represent Morocco on the international stage. He made his Morocco debut on 23 may, 2014 in a friendly against Mozambique. Morocco recorded a routine 4-0 win over Mozambique back then. Achraf Lazaar has a contract with Palermo which expires on 30 June, 2017.

Founded on August 1, 1903, Boavista are a Portuguese club that welcome their rivals at Estadio do Bessa. The capacity of the venue is 28,263 and it was built back in 1911. As Panteras (The Panthers) are well known for their black and white shirts and white is the dominant colour of their away kit.
Famous Fellow city club Porto are considered Boavista’s main rivals and the two teams face each other in O Derby da Invicta and there have always been fireworks in clashes between the two local rivals. A Panteras did well to win their first and only Primeira Liga trophy in the 2000/2001 season, with the team finishing the campaign only one point clear of Porto.
Boavista have five Taca de Portugal trophies (1974/75, 1975/76, 1978/79, 1991/92, 1996/97), with the team winning Supertaca de Portugal three times (1979, 1992, 1997).
