Our prediction for this Premier League match:
Buoyed by splendid back-to-back wins over West Ham United (6-0) and Burnley (5-0), Arsenal will look to give fans yet another reason to celebrate when they take on Newcastle United in the Premier League round 26. The Gunners are likely to adopt yet another attack-minded approach, but Saturday’s football game will be anything but a walk in the park for Mikel Arteta’s troops. The good news for the hosts is that all Gabriel Jesus, Oleksandr Zinchenko, and Takehiro Tomiyasu should be fit for the match.
The Magpies, on the other hand, have been involved in some high-scoring games of late. As over 2.5 goals have been netted in each of Newcastle’s last seven league fixtures, we are about to see goals galore at Emirates Stadium. The likes of Callum Wilson, Alexander Isak, Joelinton, Joseph Willock, Matthew Targett, and Elliot Anderson are out of contention with injuries for the visiting team.
Highlighted Player (Jamaal Lascelles):
Born in Derby on November 11, 1993, Jamaal Lascelles is an English footballer who plays for Newcastle United as a defender. Lascelles began his youth career at Nottingham Forest and he continued playing for the Reds on senior level.
After scoring two goals in 32 appearances for Forest, Jamaal Lascelles moved to Newcastle United in 2014 and he has been playing for the Magpies ever since. The 188-cm-tall centre-back has a deal with Newcastle United, which should expire in June, 2023. Jamaal Lascelles made two appearances for England U21, but he has yet to make his senior debut with the Three Lions.
Speaking of his individual honours, the English defender was part of PFA Team of the Year for the 2016/2017 Championship season. Jamaal Lascelles scored three goals in 35 appearances for Newcastle United in the 2017/2018 Premier League season, helping Rafa Benitez’s team secure yet another top flight survival.
Highlighted Team (Arsenal):
Arsenal are regarded as one of the best English teams. The Gunners have won 12 FA Cup trophies, 13 league titles and two League Cups, but they have yet to lift the Champions League trophy. Arsene Wenger’s team were on the verge of beating Barcelona in the Champions League final back in 2006, but they eventually failed to win the prestigious title.
Arsenal used to play their homes at Highbury, but in 2006 they moved to the Emirates Stadium. The capacity of the stadium is 60,260. The Gunners won their last Premier League trophy back in 2004, with the capital club going through the season without a single loss. The likes of Thierry Henry, Denis Bergkamp and Robert Pires were part of the team back then, but Arsenal have not won the league trophy ever since.
Arsenal was founded by Woolwich munitions workers as Dial Square back in 1886. It is well known that Tottenham Hotspur are Arsenal’s fiercest rivals and there have always been fireworks when the two local rivals meet in the North London derby.
