Our prediction for this Premier League match:
Crystal Palace and Aston Villa face each other at Selhurst Park in what is expected to be one of the most exciting games of Sunday’s program. The Eagles aim to bounce back from a 3-1 loss to Southampton, with the team eyeing their only sixth home win of the process. Both Schlupp and Batshuayi are pushing for a start, while Sakho, Ferguson, Wickham, and McArthur remain in the treatment room.
The Villans, on the other hand, are eyeing a top-ten finish. Considering that both sides are likely to go for a win in Sunday’s clash, we are tempted to put our money on both teams to score. As for the visitors, key midfielder Jack Grealish should start the match after recovering from a long-term injury. In the first half of the season Aston Villa crushed Crystal Palace at Villa Park.
Highlighted Player (Patrick van Aanholt):
Patrick van Aanholt is a Dutch footballer who plays as a left back for Sunderland. The left-footed player joined Chelsea at the age of 19, but he made no more than two appearances for the Stamford Bridge outfit.
After spending five years on loan spells at Coventry City, Newcastle United, Leicester City, Wigan Athletic and Vitesse Arnhem, he signed a contract with Sunderland in 2014 for a fee in the region of £2 million. Patrick van Aanholt impressed in the 2015/2016 Premier League campaign with the Black Cats, scoring four goals in 33 appearances for Sam Allardyce’s troops.
Speaking of his international career, the pacey full back made his Netherlands debut on 19 November, 2013 in a friendly game against Colombia. The two teams played out a goalless draw in Amsterdam and Van Aanholt came on as a substitute to replace injured ace Memphis Depay. Patrick van Aanholt was born in Hertogenbosch, but his parents are from Curacao.
Highlighted Team (Aston Villa):
Aston Villa is one of the three clubs that dropped to the Championship at the end of the 2015/2016 Premier League campaign. The Villans host their rivals at Villa Park, the stadium that was opened in 1897 and its’ capacity is 42,682. However, it has to be noted that the highest attendance recorded at the stadium was 76,588 when Aston Villa faced Derby County in the FA Cup back in 1946.
Aston Villa’s fiercest rivals are Birmingham City and West Bromwich Albion. Nonetheless, the rivalry between Aston Villa and Wolves and Coventry City is big as well. Aston Villa have won seven First Division (Premier League) trophies, with the team clinching seven FA Cup trophies as well.
The team’s biggest success, though, came in 1982 when they won the European Cup. The Villans defeated Bayern Munich (1-0) in the title game and Peter Withe was named the man of the match.
