Our prediction for this Premier League match:
Buoyed by a 2-1 win over Manchester United at Old Trafford, Fulham will be aiming to keep on climbing the standings when they take on Brighton on Matchday 27. The Cottagers are eyeing their eighth home win of the process, but this game will be anything but a walk in the park for the capital club. The good news for the hosts is that Willian should recover in time to face Brighton, while Portugal midfielder Joao Palhinha misses out through suspension. Towering striker Raul Jimenez has yet to overcome a hamstring injury.
Roberto De Zerbi’s troops, on the other hand, are eager to represent England in European competitions for yet another season. As Brighton are likely to stick to their attacking style of play, we believe that there is a big value in betting on over 2.5 goals. Talented midfielder Billy Gilmour is sidelined through suspension, while Japan international Kaoru Mitoma faces race against the clock to be fit for Saturday’s clash.
Highlighted Player (Tom Cairney):
Tom Cairney is a professional footballer who plays for Fulham. His main position is central midfielder, but he plays as an attacking midfielder and a right midfielder as well. The left-footed player was born in Nottingham, England on 20 January, 1991 and he started his youth career at Leeds United.
In 2007 he moved to Hull City and he was named Hull’s Young Player of the Year for the 2008/2009 campaign. After making 70 league appearances for the Tigers he joined Blackburn Rovers on 1 August, 2013 on loan and on 2 January, 2014 he signed a permanent deal with the Riversiders. At the end of the 2014/2015 Championship campaign he joined Fulham.
Tom Cairney’s father is Scottish and, as a result, the Fulham footballer decided to represent Scotland on the international stage. Cairney has 2 caps for Scotland U-21 and he made 6 appearances for Scotland U-21 team. It has to be noted that he suffered a serious injury in August 2012. The injury forced him to be out of contention for over three months.
Highlighted Team (Brighton):
Brighton & Hove Albion Football Club were formed in 1901. The Seagulls welcome their opponents at Falmer Stadium and the capacity of Brighton’s home ground is 30,750. The stadium was built in 2008 and it was opened in 2011. The venue is known for commercial purposes as American Express Community Stadium.
Brighton & Hove Albion compete in the Premier League and they play in blue and white stripes. The colour of Brighton’s away kit is green. The club made it to the FA Cup final in 1983, but English giants Manchester United proved to be a big catch for the Red Devils.
Brighton’s main rivals are Crystal Palace and the Seagulls have recorded 35 wins over the Eagles. Frank Stapleton, Martin Chivers, Joe Corrigan, Bobby Zamora, Mark Lawrenson, Bobby Smith, John Crumplin and Frank Worthington are notable footballers who played for Brighton in the past. The Albion is Preston’s yet another nickname.
