Our prediction for this Premier League match:
After suffering an upsetting 1-0 loss at Nottingham Forest, Liverpool will look to get back on course in the Premier League when they face Leeds United at Anfield on Saturday. The Reds have been underperforming in the new EPL campaign, and seeing that they have already dropped 17 points, this has to go down as a must-win game for Jurgen Klopp’s troops.
Trent Alexander-Arnold is pushing for a start, as well as Jordan Henderson, while all Matip, Diogo Jota, Keita, and Luis Diaz remain in the recovery room. Defender Ibrahima Konate should be fit for the match. The Whites, on the other hand, are stuck in the relegation zone with only nine points in their pocket, and given their four-game losing run in the national championship, anything but a routine home win would be a major surprise.
Highlighted Player (Jordan Henderson):
Jordan Henderson is an English football player born on the 17th of June 1990 in Sunderland. Henderson started his football career playing for Sunderland. After a loan period where he played for Coventry City Henderson got transferred to Liverpool for approximately 18 million euro. Henderson is one of the starting eleven of England as well where he made his debut in November 2010.
He played for England during EURO 2012 and the World Cup 2014.Henderson is a centre/defensive midfielder which is known for his stamina and great tackling. Because of his vision Henderson got chosen as the captain of Liverpool after Steven Gerrard left the club. Henderson didn’t win any individual prizes yet but can be considered as one of the best players in his position.
In season 2011/2012 Henderson won the League Cup with Liverpool. Henderson played for over 20 games in the English national team.
Highlighted Team (Leeds United):
Leeds United is one of the clubs that won the FA Cup. The Whites outplayed Arsenal in the final of the prestigious competition back in 1972, but they clinched the League Cup trophy as well. Leeds United faced the Gunners in the 1967/1968 League Cup final and it has to be noted that Terry Cooper scored the winner for the Whites.
Leeds play their home games at Elland Road and the capacity of the stadium is 37,914. The club was founded in 1919 and they have won three First Division (Premier League) trophies ever since (1968/1969, 1973/1974, 1991/1992). Leeds United made it to the Champions League final in 1975, but they were beaten by Bayern Munich in the title clash.
The Whites were impressive under David O’Leary. The likes of Jonathan Woodgate, Lee Bowyer, Harry Kewell, Mark Viduka and Ian Harte were part of the Elland Road outfit back then and they did well to reach the semis of the Champions League in 2001.
