Our prediction for this Premier League match:
Buoyed by a 2-1 win over Brentford, Norwich City will look to give fans yet another reason for celebration when they take on Southampton at Carrow Road. The Canaries are eager to move away from the rock-bottom, but they face a difficult task in Saturday’s clash. As always, a man to keep an eye on in the home team will be Finland international Teemu Pukki, who found the net in the last league match, while all Hanley, Byram, Zimmermann, and Cantwell remain on the sidelines through injuries.
Southampton, on the other hand, recorded back-to-back wins over Watford (1-0) and Aston Villa (1-0) before the international break. The Saints aim to keep on climbing the standings, and seeing that both sides will go for a win in Saturday’s game, we are tempted to put our money on both teams to score.
Highlighted Player (Grant Hanley):
Grant Hanley is Scottish footballer who plays for Norwich City as defender. Hanley was born in Dumfries, Scotland, on November 20, 1991 and he started his youth career at Queen of the South. After ending his spells with Crewe Alexandra and Rangers, the Scottish player joined English club Blackburn Rovers, where he started his senior career.
After scoring eight goals in 183 appearances for the Riversiders in league matches, he moved to fellow English club Newcastle United in July, 2016 for an undisclosed fee. Grant Hanley, though, made no more than 10 appearances for Newcastle United in the Championship before joining Norwich City. The 191-cm-tall defender made his full international debut for Scotland against Wales on in May, 2011.
He scored his first goal for the Scotland national football team in a 2014 FIFA World Cup qualifier against Wales. His contract with Norwich City should expire on June 30, 2021.
Highlighted Team (Southampton):
Southampton are an English football club that have been playing their home games at St Mary's Stadium since 2001. The Saints were based at The Dell in the past and the capacity of Southampton’s new stadium is 32,505. Southampton wear red and white striped shirts and the colour of the team’s away kit is navy and green.
The Saints have yet to win the Premier League trophy, but they did well to clinch the FA Cup title back in 1976, while participating in the final of the prestigious competition in 1900, 1902 and 2003. Southampton outplayed Manchester United in the 1976 FA Cup final and that is probably the club’s greatest victory ever.
The club are well known for their football academy and Real Madrid superstar Gareth Bale is one of the players who began their football carrier at the St. Mary’s Stadium outfit. Southampton’s fiercest rivals are Portsmouth and the two teams square off against each other in the South Coast Derby.
