Our prediction for this Premier League match:
Out-of-sorts Tottenham will be looking to put an end to their three-game losing run when they take on Aston Villa in London on Matchday 7. Spurs did suffered a 3-1 loss to Arsenal in the London derby, but they showed signs of improvement in the second half. Harry Kane was more than unfortunate not to find the net in the North London derby; therefore, we believe that the time has come for the Man City target to open his goal-scoring account. Giovani Lo Celso should be recalled to the starting XI, while both Sessegnon and Bergwijn remain in the recovery room.
The Villans, on the other hand, did remarkably well to shock star-studded Man Utd at Old Trafford at the weekend. The visitors are high on confidence ahead of the trip to London, but seeing that Tottenham want this win more than Villa, we are tempted to put our money on Nuno Espirito Santo’s troops. All Davis, Bailey, Trezeguet, and Sanson continue to miss out with injuries for the away team.
Highlighted Player (Harry Kane):
Widely regarded as one of England’s best strikers at the moment, Harry Kane enjoyed a meteoric rise at Tottenham Hotspur, scoring 21 Premier League goals during the 2014/2015 campaign to be voted PFA Young Player of the Year.
The highly rated striker went on to surpass that achievement the following season as he helped Tottenham Hotspur mount a serious title challenge for the first time in club’s recent history and he made seamless transition to international football. Kane scored four goals in his first ten appearances for England to prove he was here to stay and at the same time established himself as a first choice striker in Roy Hodgson’s squad ahead of the Euro 2016 finals.
Kane is a modern striker, who is extremely dangerous in the opposition box, but it was some outstanding goals from distance as well as link-up play with teammates that earned him an excellent reputation in world football. Kane is expected to lead both Tottenham and England in years to come, that is if he can resist the lure of top European clubs that continue to cast admiring glances his way.
Highlighted Team (Aston Villa):
Aston Villa is one of the three clubs that dropped to the Championship at the end of the 2015/2016 Premier League campaign. The Villans host their rivals at Villa Park, the stadium that was opened in 1897 and its’ capacity is 42,682. However, it has to be noted that the highest attendance recorded at the stadium was 76,588 when Aston Villa faced Derby County in the FA Cup back in 1946.
Aston Villa’s fiercest rivals are Birmingham City and West Bromwich Albion. Nonetheless, the rivalry between Aston Villa and Wolves and Coventry City is big as well. Aston Villa have won seven First Division (Premier League) trophies, with the team clinching seven FA Cup trophies as well.
The team’s biggest success, though, came in 1982 when they won the European Cup. The Villans defeated Bayern Munich (1-0) in the title game and Peter Withe was named the man of the match.
