Our prediction for this Premier League match:
Tottenham Hotspur and Ipswich Town face each other in London in what is expected to be a David-vs-Goliath clash. Spurs proved their worth in a come-from-behind 4-1 triumph over Aston Villa and they are likely to stick to their attacking style of play against the newcomers. As both Cristian Romero and Richarlison are fit for Sunday’s clash, home win should be considered.
The Tractor Boys, on the other hand, are facing a tough battle for survival. The newcomers have yet to record a win in the new Premier League campaign and given Tottenham’s excellent home record, anything but a routine home triumph would be a big shock. Anyhow, Spurs will not have a better chance than this to put an end to their three-game losing run in encounters with Ipswich. Adding to their woes, midfielder Kalvin Phillips is banned for the visiting side due to the accumulation of yellow cards.
Highlighted Player (Heung-min Son):
Over the years Son Heung-Min has established himself as one of the best Asian footballers. Son is a Tottenham Hotspur first-team regular and he played a very important role in Mauro Pochettino’s team in the 2017/2018 Premier League campaign, scoring 12 goals, while making 37 appearances in the process.
The South Korean footballer, who is well known for his speed and a very powerful shot, was born in Chuncheo on 8 July 1992 and he began his youth career at FC Seoul. In 2008 he moved to Hamburger SV, but he made his senior debut for the Bundesliga club two years later. In 2013 he signed a deal with fellow German side Bayer Leverkusen and he scored 21 goals in 62 appearances in the Bundesliga for the BayArena outfit.
In 2015 he signed a five-year contract with Spurs for a fee of £22 million. Son Heung-min made his South Korea debut in a friendly against Syria in 2010.
Highlighted Team (Ipswich):
Ipswich Town are an English football club that was formed in 1878. Portman Road has been the home ground of Ipswich Town since 1894 and the capacity of the venue, which was expanded in 2002, is 30,311. The Tractor Boys compete in the Championship, but they used to play in the English Premier League in the past as well. Ipswich Town last appeared in the elite division in the 2001/2002 season.
Ipswich won the FA Cup in 1978, with the team beating Arsenal (1-0) in the title game. However, the club’s biggest success came in 1981 when they outplayed AZ Alkmaar in the UEFA Cup final. It has to be noted that the Tractor Boys have yet to suffer a loss at home ground in the European competitions.
Norwich City are regarded as Ipswich Town’s bitterest rivals and it is well known that the two sides take on each other in the East Anglian derby.
