Our prediction for this Premier League match:
Tottenham welcome Leeds United to their Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in what should be a very exciting Premier League game. Spurs aim to put an end to their three-match winless run, but this will be anything but a walk in the park for the hosts. Harry Kane has been scoring goals for fun with England of late, and, no doubt, he will give 100% to put an end to his EPL goal drought in Sunday’s clash. Sessegnon and Skipp remain sidelined with injuries, while Bryan Gil is a major doubt.
The Whites, on the other hand, continue to rely on Brazil international Raphinha, who found the net in a 1-1 draw with Leicester City before the international break. Marcelo Bielsa’s troops are tough to beat at home, but given their poor away record in the 2021/2022 season, we believe that there is a big value in betting on Antonio Conte’s troops. Patrick Bamford should be the only absentee in the away side.
Highlighted Player (Harry Kane):
Widely regarded as one of England’s best strikers at the moment, Harry Kane enjoyed a meteoric rise at Tottenham Hotspur, scoring 21 Premier League goals during the 2014/2015 campaign to be voted PFA Young Player of the Year.
The highly rated striker went on to surpass that achievement the following season as he helped Tottenham Hotspur mount a serious title challenge for the first time in club’s recent history and he made seamless transition to international football. Kane scored four goals in his first ten appearances for England to prove he was here to stay and at the same time established himself as a first choice striker in Roy Hodgson’s squad ahead of the Euro 2016 finals.
Kane is a modern striker, who is extremely dangerous in the opposition box, but it was some outstanding goals from distance as well as link-up play with teammates that earned him an excellent reputation in world football. Kane is expected to lead both Tottenham and England in years to come, that is if he can resist the lure of top European clubs that continue to cast admiring glances his way.
Highlighted Team (Leeds United):
Leeds United is one of the clubs that won the FA Cup. The Whites outplayed Arsenal in the final of the prestigious competition back in 1972, but they clinched the League Cup trophy as well. Leeds United faced the Gunners in the 1967/1968 League Cup final and it has to be noted that Terry Cooper scored the winner for the Whites.
Leeds play their home games at Elland Road and the capacity of the stadium is 37,914. The club was founded in 1919 and they have won three First Division (Premier League) trophies ever since (1968/1969, 1973/1974, 1991/1992). Leeds United made it to the Champions League final in 1975, but they were beaten by Bayern Munich in the title clash.
The Whites were impressive under David O’Leary. The likes of Jonathan Woodgate, Lee Bowyer, Harry Kewell, Mark Viduka and Ian Harte were part of the Elland Road outfit back then and they did well to reach the semis of the Champions League in 2001.
