Our prediction for this Premier League match:
Sunday’s football game between Tottenham and Newcastle United will bring down the curtain on the Premier League round 16. Spurs suffered a 2-1 loss to West Ham in the local derby and, no doubt, they are eager to put an end to their five-game winless run in the national championship. Fit-again Brazil striker Richarlison is pushing for a start, while Rodrigo Bentancur, Eric Dier, James Maddison, Micky van de Ven, and Ivan Perisic continue to miss out with injuries. Son Heung-min should be fit for the match despite picking up a knock in the London derby.
The Magpies are hit by injuries as well, with the likes of Barnes, Botman, Targett, Burn, Murphy, Wilson, Longstaff, Willock, and Pope remaining in the recovery room and given their difficulties on the road, home win should be considered. Eddie Howe’s troops experienced all sorts of problems at the back in a 3-0 loss to Everton on Thursday evening.
Highlighted Player (Heung-min Son):
Over the years Son Heung-Min has established himself as one of the best Asian footballers. Son is a Tottenham Hotspur first-team regular and he played a very important role in Mauro Pochettino’s team in the 2017/2018 Premier League campaign, scoring 12 goals, while making 37 appearances in the process.
The South Korean footballer, who is well known for his speed and a very powerful shot, was born in Chuncheo on 8 July 1992 and he began his youth career at FC Seoul. In 2008 he moved to Hamburger SV, but he made his senior debut for the Bundesliga club two years later. In 2013 he signed a deal with fellow German side Bayer Leverkusen and he scored 21 goals in 62 appearances in the Bundesliga for the BayArena outfit.
In 2015 he signed a five-year contract with Spurs for a fee of £22 million. Son Heung-min made his South Korea debut in a friendly against Syria in 2010.
Highlighted Team (Newcastle):
Newcastle United failed to impress in the 2015/2016 Premier League campaign and, as a result, they dropped to the English second tier. The Magpies will host their rivals at their St. James’ Park in the 2016/2017 Championship campaign and it has to be noted that the capacity of the stadium is 52,354.
Newcastle United have won four domestic trophies (1904/1905, 1906/1907, 1908/1909, 1926/1927), while lifting six FA Cup titles (1910, 1924, 1932, 1951, 1952, 1955) and a number of star players were part of the St. James’ Park outfit in the past.
David Ginola, Michael Owen, Alan Shearer, Les Ferdinand, Nolberto Solano, Gary Speed, Obafemi Martins and Kevin Nolan are notable footballers who are still remembered at the club. Newcastle’s fiercest rivals are Sunderland and there have always been fireworks when the two local rivals face each other in the Tyne-Wear derby. The color of Newcastle’s home kit is black and white.
