Our prediction for this Premier League match:
West Ham United will be looking to recover from a 3-1 loss to Arsenal when they take on Brentford in yet another London derby. The Hammers failed to impress in the second half of the Boxing Day game, and, with the team extending their losing run to four matches. David Moyes’ men are desperate to get back on course, and we are positive that they will adopt an attack-minded approach in Friday’s clash.
Both Scamacca and Aguerd are major doubts, while Cornet remains in the recovery room. The Bees, on the other hand, dropped a two-goal advantage in a 2-2 draw with Tottenham, but given their attacking potential with Ivan Toney up front, both teams to score betting option should be considered. As for the away team, all Baptista, Ajer, and Hickey remain in the recovery room, while Frank Onyeka will be assessed ahead of the kick-off.
Highlighted Player (Saïd Benrahma):
Said Benrahma is an Algeria international who started his club career at Nice. The pacey winger made his Ligue 1 debut during the 2013/2014 season and after scoring 3 goals in 17 appearances for les Aiglons in the French top flight, he moved to the Championship team Brentford in the summer of 2018.
Said Benrahma was born in Ain Temouchent, Algeria on August 10, 1995 and it has to be noted that he played for the likes of Angers, Gazelec Ajaccio and Chateauroux on loan before joining the Griffin Park outfit. The Algerian footballer impressed in the 2018/2019 Championship season, scoring 10 goals and providing 15 assists for his teammates.
His main position is right winger, but he is used as a left winger as well. Speaking of his international career, Said Benrahma made his debut for the Algeria national team on October 13, 2015 in a 1-0 win over Senegal.
Highlighted Team (Brentford):
Based in London, Brentford compete in the Championship and they were founded in 1898. Griffin Park has been the home ground of the club since 1904 and the capacity of the venue is 12,300.
The Bees have yet to play in the Premier League and it has to be noted that they made it to the FA Cup sixth round on four occasions (1937/1938, 1945/1946,1948/1949, 1988/1989). Brentford played in the League Cup round 4 in the 1982/1983 and 2010/2011 season and that is the club’s biggest success in the competition.
Brentford’s main rivals are Fulham and Queens Park Rangers and they take on each other in the West London Derby. The rivalry with the Cottagers is probably the biggest and you should bear in mind that the clashes between the two teams have their history of crowd violence. The colour of Brentford’s shirts is red and white and they wear black shorts.
