Our prediction for this Premier League match:
Olympic Stadium will host Sunday’s football game between West Ham and Southampton, the two teams who sit in the opposite halves of the table. The Hammers are enjoying yet another successful season, but they suffered a 2-0 loss to Arsenal in their last league match. David Moyes’ troops are eager to return to winning ways as soon as possible, and they are likely to go all guns blazing at Southampton. Vladimir Coufal is back from the EFL Cup suspension, while all Zouma, Ogbonna, Fredericks, and Johnson are sidelined with injuries.
The Saints, on the other hand, are eyeing their first league win since November 5. Southampton have been struggling at the back of late, and seeing that they conceded 11 goals in total in the previous four away games, home win should be considered. All Stuart Armstrong, Adam Armstrong, and Che Adams are sidelined with injuries.
Highlighted Player (Saïd Benrahma):
Said Benrahma is an Algeria international who started his club career at Nice. The pacey winger made his Ligue 1 debut during the 2013/2014 season and after scoring 3 goals in 17 appearances for les Aiglons in the French top flight, he moved to the Championship team Brentford in the summer of 2018.
Said Benrahma was born in Ain Temouchent, Algeria on August 10, 1995 and it has to be noted that he played for the likes of Angers, Gazelec Ajaccio and Chateauroux on loan before joining the Griffin Park outfit. The Algerian footballer impressed in the 2018/2019 Championship season, scoring 10 goals and providing 15 assists for his teammates.
His main position is right winger, but he is used as a left winger as well. Speaking of his international career, Said Benrahma made his debut for the Algeria national team on October 13, 2015 in a 1-0 win over Senegal.
Highlighted Team (Southampton):
Southampton are an English football club that have been playing their home games at St Mary's Stadium since 2001. The Saints were based at The Dell in the past and the capacity of Southampton’s new stadium is 32,505. Southampton wear red and white striped shirts and the colour of the team’s away kit is navy and green.
The Saints have yet to win the Premier League trophy, but they did well to clinch the FA Cup title back in 1976, while participating in the final of the prestigious competition in 1900, 1902 and 2003. Southampton outplayed Manchester United in the 1976 FA Cup final and that is probably the club’s greatest victory ever.
The club are well known for their football academy and Real Madrid superstar Gareth Bale is one of the players who began their football carrier at the St. Mary’s Stadium outfit. Southampton’s fiercest rivals are Portsmouth and the two teams square off against each other in the South Coast Derby.
