Almeria will look to keep their survival hopes alive when they take on Getafe in the La Liga round 33 on Saturday. The Andalusians are stuck at the bottom with only 14 points on their account and, as a result, only a miracle can help them avoid the relegation. Belgium winger Largie Ramazani is banned for the match following his sending-off in a 2-1 loss to Villarreal, while both Luis Suarez and Aleksandar Radovanovic remain in the recovery room.
Los Azulones, on the other hand, aim to put an end to their three-game winless run. Getafe head into the match following a 1-1 draw with Real Sociedad and seeing that Almeria are capable of producing fine displays on home soil, yet another share of spoils is on the horizon. Experienced defender Djene should be fit for the match despite suffering a minor injury at the weekend, but all Juan Iglesias, Carles Alena, Domingos Duarte, and Borja Mayoral continue to miss out.

A central defender who can equally be deployed as a right-back, Djene Dakonam has emerged as one of the most influential Getafe players in the 2017/18 season. His road to prominence was a long one, however, and Djene had to bide his time in order to be recognized for quality he undoubtedly possesses. Dapaong-born Togolese international, Djene Dakonam made his first football steps as a youth member of Etoile Filante.
Spells in Benin and Cameroon with Tonnerre d’Abomey and Coton Sport, respectively, saw Djene Dakonam grab attention of Alcoron, who moved in to bring him to Spain in 2014. During two years in Spain Djene Dakonam made 59 league appearances before moving to Sint-Truidense. It was in Belgium that Djene Dakonam proved his defensive versatility and Getafe came calling the very next year, in 2017.
Djene proved to be an instant hit with the Azulones and is hoping a move to one of Europe’s biggest clubs will not be too far away for him. The likes of Arsenal and Tottenham have been sniffing around him during the summer transfer window in 2018 but were ultimately scared off by his £31 million release clause.

UD Almeria is a Spanish club based in the autonomous community of Andalusia. Los Rojiblancos are one of the newer additions to the Spanish football system, with the club being founded on July 26, 1989.
Almeria suffered relegation to Segunda Division in the 2014/15 season, and they have been competing in the Spanish second tier ever since. Los Rojiblancos are well known for their white shirts with red stripes, while blue is the dominant colour of their away jersey. Sofiane Feghouli, Felipe Melo, Diego Alves, Veljko Paunovic, Aleix Vidal, Alvaro Negredo, Tomer Hemed, and Mate Bilic are some notable footballers who played for Almeria in the past. Fellow Andalusian clubs Sevilla, Malaga, and Granada are considered the club’s fiercest rivals.
